Knives and Coffee

A generous gift from the Dergyll Dergyll who knows I likes me some instant.

That stuff is pretty good. I grind beans and french-press them when I feel motivated or have time with the wife but at least 75% of my coffee habit is banging out cups of instant as needed.

I'm a big fan of the Davidoff line of instant coffee but it's too expensive for my everyday consumption. I had been ordering other European instants such as Douwe Egberts or Jacobs but rising prices has defaulted me to the extra-large containers of Taster's Choice from the discount club. It's decent enough, but I do keep a jar of instant Davidoff for occasions between the Taster's Choice and a full french press.

A European friend explained to me that the instant coffee market is better over there because of how instant was normalized over time versus drip in the United States.
