First civivi knife. 14c28n, 3.6 inch blade, 1/8 stock and ground thin.. I hate that it out cuts knives costing 10+ times it’s price of $53 .

The boy found two coyotes, 1 skunk and an owl tonight.

Sort of grim on the dog front lately. My guy has been diagnosed with heart disease and heart failure. After a lot of imaging and expert opinions, all we can really do is diet, supplementation, and prescription meds which are already helping some. My vet says 6-12 months of quality time, but I’ve got to call it when it’s time to go. He’s only four, so I’m definitely not going to let him suffer or slow down too severely.

We rescue these dogs and you never really know what you’re getting, but I did really let myself get attached to this guy because of his age. Large breeds especially mastiffs you just never know. Can’t take anything for granted.

My disdain for these backyard breeders knows no bounds.

My condolences man. I wholeheartedly agree with the backyard breeder thing. I’m sorry your pup and you are experiencing this nightmare right now. Positive Thoughts and prayers with you two. I wouldn’t be around if it wasn’t for a few damn good pups that crossed my path during some dark times..

Your pup knows he’s loved - that’s more important than anything I can think of. Give that good boy a good ear scratching for me please.

Sorry to hear this! Going through something similar with one of our Dachshund’s, progressive Kidney Disease! Changed to medical diet and his health has improved! Could be a month or over a year. He is 15 so his life has been golden! Couldn’t imagine going through your situation at such a young age!

Been slowly picking up the pace on runs with her. Close to a six minute mile pace at this point. She is a trooper and definitely watches my back on the trails. I see her hair down her spine pop up when some wild animal is near. Of course, it could be a deer or raccoon but she has alerted me to coyote before. She loves running.

They absolutely are. Got your back- ready to rock. She is small but smart, loyal, tough, and all I need is a heads up. My boy wants a “big dog” for hikes and trips. We shall see.

Your pup is a big dog, just compact . I’ve met plenty of 15-25 pound woofers that hold their own with 75-100 pound pups.

Recently went to a Siberian Husky sleep park in The Rockies. My boy really enjoyed hanging with the dogs and the short simulated sled run (they do it for real during winter).



During the run, the lead dog on the right was named Toro. The son of gun knew his lefts and rights. It was awesome.

Thank you both. It is tough, gonna be hard on my son as they are so attached, that’s the part that gets me the most. He is largely himself since stabilizing the fluid accumulation with a diuretic and happily eats the cardiac food, he’s also taking a number of supps recommended by the specialist. I’m keeping his walks to about ten minutes and just letting him chill. You just don’t know with the big guys. They are so paradoxically fragile.
