Do you find that you have to really turn the front barrel all the way, pretty hard, to get full brightness?

Not really, but I am definitely compressing the O-ring a bit.

Yeah it's just the lighting. This was an early one from them before the Best Made version came out. Still working great.

That brought back some instant memories. My dad had that flashlight. Always kept it near the fireplace to go get wood outside.

Dave, I don't know anything about that i3T model (or most flashlights TBH), but I sure do like my i3E.

I think it's their best model honestly
You can gift one to anybody and it will be appreciated, plus they're completely reliable.
The only time I've ever heard of problems with an I3E came from my grandmother, and it turns out that it was just the dollar store batteries she was using.
That I3T is a good model to gift as well .

I've got both the i3T and the i3E. I carried the i3E on my key chain for a couple years, and the i3T was on my dog leash. I preferred the i3E, slightly smaller, and twist to activate, so it doesn't just turn on in the pocket. The i3T was great on the dog leash, push button activation and two powers, so great with one hand while scooping poop with the other hand. Eventually the rubber over the power button on the i3T tore... bummer... but it still worked fine.
