Looks like a great meal and a good choice of blade to enjoy it with. :)
 
Two summers ago, I did a corncob chopping test between an old cleaver (with an interesting repair), a Buck 110 (anniversary year as you can see), a Chinese Schrade 51OT, and a Condor Kephart (with that black gunk removed from the blade).

Much to my surprise at the time, the hollow-ground Buck did best. This was probably because it was the sharpest, despite having a sub-optimal grind for slicing something other than meat.

(In other food-prep notes, last Thanksgiving I carved the turkey in full view of family and guests with a Cattaraugus 225Q. Sad to say, no photos.)

Wow. What is that knife?

It's made by Nathan Carothers. Didn't use it for collecting the delicious mushrooms, had it along for the ride to clean up a few trails on the property.

He has a subforum here and I believe is planning another small sale of these (typically on Friday 2 CST) a few weeks from now.
