Well, I am looking at what I want to get in 2010. First and foremost is some time outside. This includes losing a lot of weight (I've been up and down all year, I've said it last year too ). I've been on a few short day hikes in some really beautiful areas. Mostly local to central northern MD, and central southern PA. I want to get in good enough shape to enjoy a couple days in the PA/WV/MD mountains. This is priority number one.

In regards to sharp things, I am looking for a lot of blades. I already have a lot of blades though :foot:.

Productions

CRK small desert ironwood Sebenza classic or 21
assorted Great Eastern slippies
Spyderco Native IV and BG42 Military

I am looking into placing a few orders, some I have been sitting on while $ was uncertain, others I have done a little more investigatin' :D. Some, were ones I saw at Scott Gossmans campout shop tour, and just have to have!

Custom orders

Scott Gossman UNK with 440C and a bright handle material, one of his choppers (no idea which one yet)

Ray Laconico Kephart with wood scales

one of Fiddleback/Andy's blades (which one)

an ML mini Kephart with a big handle to replace the one I love but can't use because of the handle

David Farmer Golok or dangerous curves Golok (thanks again Tony ;):D)

a chopper from Butch Harner, will probably pick up one at the Timonium show

a special project I dropped the ball on with Koyote

I am also looking for a Hudson Bay axe design. Gear wise, I am refining that, and will be looking into what I really need, as opposed to want, over the coming year.

Whats on the want list for next year?

I'm hoping to pick up a custom from one of the makers involved in the challenge thread.

Still not sure which one just yet.

The RAT/Condor collaborative machete, all the new Condor stuff in general and hopefully I'll be able to scrape up the funds this coming summer for a custom concept I sent to Stomper. :)

Water filter for backpacking in the mountains
A good axe
Two or three custom knives would be nice, no idea what I'll actually end up getting.

That's all I can think of right now. I would like to focus more on learning skills. I've got a pretty decent set of gear. Not to say I've got gear and no skill, but I would love to learn more woodcraft and wild plant and wood uses.

For Sure:

Izula (maybe before 2010 if not then shortly after it begins)
Condor Golok (If I can ever find one)

Possible:

I've always had my eye on a sebenza
One of Koyote's big blades
Something of Rick's

As you can see there's quite a price difference between the definite and the maybes

Hopefully some Condors - the carbon Bolo Machete should be in stock by 2010 I would think... :(

Only blade on my Radar right now is an Enzo Trapper....

Hennesey Hammock, and a Kifaru Slick bag gear wise....

Other then that im pretty set. Id like to spend more money going places to use the gear I have. So far trips are planned for mountain biking in Moab, and California with the kids in March... Also gonna really really try to make WLC next year.

The really likely stuff:
An ALOX Farmer, a RAT RC10 (or whatever they decide to call it), a RAT Izula, and a Bark River Bravo Neck Knife. If Maxpedition brings out the Pigmy Falcon II in the new colors, that will definitely make the list, same goes for the 10" water bottle holder.

The "maybe if things go right, but not very likely" stuff:
A RAT RC5 with either the RAT Pack or that new pouch they came out with. A Tops/Joezilla Shango. A Spyderco Military in orange G10. A decent water filration system.

That depends on these darn makers here who keep posting pictures of their new work. :(

I will buy the Bark River Necker if the price comes down after they have been out a while. Other wise, the RAT version. Or Maybe the Becker. However I have one pretty much like those coming from Stomper. I may see what the Breeden Cub would look like with no scales.

Hmmm, not planning on buying any blades.
With a little luck I'll get my forge together so I can finish the Blades I have started. And if this new job happens maybe a new truck.

Oh, I am looking for just the right Tarp

Production:

BRK Gameskeeper 1 and Bravo 2
Rat 3
Condor Golok
Full size plain edge Kabar
:EDIT: I also want Mistwalkers design from Schrade

Custom:

Breeden SERE 5.5(the one posted in the big SERE knife thread)
Koster Monster Nessie
Fiddleback something, haven't picked one yet
Anything else I can afford.

Gear/guns:

Ruger SR9
1911, probably a Norinco, just for kicks
Remington 870, or a copy, short barreled, maybe a speedfeed stock, mesa saddle, etc.
Dominion Outlaw 12g, SxS 12 inch barrels:D
CZ 527 Carbine, 7.62x39
Camelbak HAWG
I really wanna set up a woodsbumming kit based on a 10x4 bottle holder

im hoping to get me a koyote knife as well as the 19" wetterlings and the pole and paddle buck saw...also a SS Nalgene. other than that im pretty much all good!

I don't really need any more knives, but in 2010 I'll probably pick up some kind of custom scandi. Though I don't know if that is a priority or not, but it is an unfilled niche in my collection. I'd like a crooked knife for spoon carving.

Gear - better compass, cold weather sleeping bag, snow peak giga stove, a pouch to attach to my water bottle holder as an EDC bag, more wool cloths for winter.

Skillz - Bow drill - make full kit (within 1/2 day) from foraged materials on site (except cord for bow) and produce a coal. Complete bowdrill on more types of woods that I harvested. Complete handrill. Learn more knots. Carve better.

Dirt time - more of it. More solo hikes - I love my wife, but I need more me time.

Continue meeting more W&SS folks and knifemakers.
