Knives Are For Cutting Stuff...Do You Have Pictures To Prove It?

The Busse subforum is LOADED with these kinds of threads. I know I didn't buy mine so it could just sit there and be pretty.

I was hacking at some small trees when my TGLB tried to take out a barbed wire fence. Made it damn near 1/3 way through the metal. I wasn't even at full swing!

BF is a repository for beautiful, exotic, expensive, and pristine knife photographs. On rare occasions, someone posts a knife pic in action, or a knife that looks like it's been used as it was intended, or non-intended; most pictures though, strongly suggest the owners have never cut anything more than paper, and those knives, for whatever reasons, are simply part of a collection. Anyway, post your knives in use...cutting food, wood, carving, whittling, chopping, cardboard, skinning, stabbing, or even using its pommel to break out of a fast sinking car. Have at it. :)

Looks like you got me on this one.

That's probably because people who actually do work with their knives either don't have the opportunity or the need to pause for a photo-op every time they use them. Just sayin'. It would be pretty funny if people ran around like Japanese tourists with eighteen cameras around their necks, pausing every five seconds to snap a photo of whatever they're doing with their knives. :D

Lets set the scene: I'm at my old job, and my boss wants me to tear the carpet out of an office...so instead of doing what he told me to do, I set my knife collection down and take glamour shots of them cutting carpet.

Or how about this: It's winter in northern Ontario and I'm camping with buddies. It's cold as balls out and I want to get a fire going as soon as possible ...so I pause to take glamour shots of my knife / hatchet / saw processing wood for the fire (or building a shelter, or whatever).

Here's another one: You're walking home from the store by the waterfront, and you witness someone go off the road and into the drink. You run over, jump into the water, and as you're about to use your knife's glass breaker to crack the window and haul the driver to safety...You pause and take some glamour shots of your knife.

Yeah, I don't have any pictures of my knives in use whatsoever. :p

I think you’re mistaking a “photo-op” with a friend or family member pulling out their iPhone for 2 min's to document a cool memory - IMO, I wish I had more pictures, it’s always fun to look at a nice catch, or a pic with Dad/bro in the woods, my .2 ;) - and if a knife is involved, awesome!

not as nice as you all have.

Hahaha, that makes for an even funnier mental image. :D

Let's try it on for size: You're walking home from the store by the waterfront with your buddy, and you witness someone go off the road and into the drink. Pointless.. I guess if I had your over-active imagination, I wouldn't need to do anything with my knives, just think about stupid scenarios with knives.

Pointless..

Relax, I'm just joking. Taking yourself too seriously will just give you an ulcer, chief. ;)

Edit: Wow, that's a nice little addition. Really classy, son, I hope you don't react that poorly to every benign joke on the internet. :thumbdn:

Am I wrong or is the average age at this site under 20?

Well, it is summer. All the jaded 13 year olds from "the land of the not so free" are starting to pop out of the woodwork now that they're out of school and apparently have nothing better to do...

Look who’s getting touchy :D.. Whats wrong, can’t practice what you preach? LOL Your above comment just proves how big of an ignoramus you are - I guess you didn't learn much elder.

BTW, if you bothered to check my "about me," I am neither 13 nor 20 "son" LOL

Good vids Devilki, sometimes is nice to see visual images of what we all love instead of talking about it *all the time*

Just sucks that general discussion is a troll breeding ground.. I'll be sure to post more soon, almost archery season!

I can't believe that such a simple request as seeing some knives in use could bring out such trollish behavior.

Now, Back on Topic.

In Honor of the 4th of July, I post Photos of Knives & Meat.:cool::thumbup:

Like I said before.. pointless.. There will always be haters for some stupid reason.

Wow... What a way to behave... No point in arguing with a 13 year old throwing a temper tantrum, best to just ignore them....or even better, add them to my ignore list.

Here's the closest I could find to an 'action shot'... Pumpkin carving a few years ago, with the knives that did it.
