Howdy folks. :)

I've read a few threads similar to this. But this one is a bit different.
How are knives viewed in your workplace?
Is your EDC restricted to the views of your co-workers?
Meaning:
Are you scared/not allowed to carry-at-will?

Had to leave your ZT at home in favor for a Vic?

At my work, there isn't any written restrictions, but I have to use my head. (If that makes sense. No machetes strapped to my belt. :D)

My work requires knife use.
I'd bet most of the ~1,000 people where I work carry a knife.

I work in an office. The two women that are in my office both have hunters for husbands and aren't necessarily afraid of knives. I did bring a 710 to work one day (I had just gotten it the day before and wanted to carry it) when I flipped it out I was asked if it was legal, lol.

I've been really loving on my ZT 0200 lately. I've never carried a knife bigger than a RAT-2/Native 5 so it will be different. I do lots of running around and up/down ladders so the weight is more of a concern than the looks. I'm sure jokes would be made but I don't think anyone would care. Lots of hunters at work with me.

I'm required to bring my own knives, but I am a chef.

I use pocket knives for box opening, no one says anything and other chefs sometimes carry small folders as well.

One of my coworkers ccarries folders, karambit and manix xl

In my line of work (pipeline construction), I generally work around a bunch of "good ole boys", so everyone is perfectly comfortable with knives and guns of all sorts.

I've carried everything from a Spyderco Kiwi to a Tatanka and no one seems to mind. Until I'm told otherwise I won't change my habits.

I'm in the trades as well, for a large contracting firm.. but there is only one other knife nut (that Iknow if) that I work with.. The others are always asking to use mine!!

I'm an automotive tech. and work in a small, independently owned shop.
Knives and guns not only accepted, but encouraged.
Most carry a knife and about half carry a gun.
Knives range in size from an ESEE 4 to a small traditional Old Timer.

Im a chef,, so Im surrounded by knives... so it doesn't come as a shock when they see a pocket knife

Nobody in my office is alarmed by any knife that I carry, but I don't flaunt it. There are a couple of other people in the office that have a little interest in knives.

I work in construction and I live in Texas... So I don't really get any weird looks with what I carry.

I work in a cube farm for a Fortune 500 company in one of the engineering divisions.
There are written restrictions for what size knife is allowed. 2" blade max. 4 1/2" opened length.
I have difficulty finding knives which satisfy those restrictions, but I don't have problems using them in front of other folks.

I work in Construction as a Superintent/Project Manager for a small General Contracting company; we do Commercial and Industrial jobs. My job can be anything from scheduling/quoting to down-right dirty work in the mud, rain, snow, dust, etc. At times, we keep work in-house (done by me) to keep things cheaper and done right; in short, I'm a Jack-of-all-trades and get to use my knives a lot.

I brought my Condor Golok machete to work once to fell some brush in a drainage easement, and nobody cared. I always carry a knife, be it a 3"-4" folder or a 4"+ fixed blade. Blades are not seen as a weapon where I work, since many people are walking around with sawzalls, sledgehammers, chainsaws, etc. It's all just part of the job.

Depends on the job site and contractor. If personal knives are forbidden I can thank the guy who carved himself up and ruined it. Spring loaded box cutters suck.

I work in a small law office for a member of my immediate family, an attorney. It's a stressful job (high-conflict family law), and most of our clients are wealthy, but it's not a suit-and-tie environment. Technically I could carry almost anything I want, but it's an office and yes--one of my co-workers is a little edgy around knives--so I choose not to abuse my privilege and carry what I might conceivably need during the course of business. Currently, the Benchmade 940-1 is my work EDC. It's fairly discrete and works fine for cutting up cardboard.

I also make regular visits to the (suburban) county courthouse. There is no official security at the door to the building (plenty of security on the floor that houses the actual courtrooms), but police are everywhere so I usually leave my knife in the car even when I'm not technically required to.

I work in the office area of a manufacturing company. Several of the guys in my department (IT) carry folders, mostly Kershaws or CRKTs of some kind. Once or twice, someone outside the department has tried to convince me that the company prohibits knives, either limited by length or forbidding them completely, but I've gone through our employee guide more than once and found no knife reference. Guns are a no-go.
