Knives for Kids at KnivesShipFree

Well done:thumbup:
the same knife was my son's first. It was lost ( of course) now he carry a Buck Vantage.
Also I got a Buck 285 at SHOT that I will most likely gift to a kid in my son's scout troop. As my daughter has a knife.
If it is OK & I find a worthy kid in scouts I might take you up on your offer.
again well done, thanks.

This is an over the top thing to do for any kid. I just ordered one for my grandson. Your company is definitely first in line for my next purchase and future purchases.

Thank you for such a kind thing to do.

Great idea Derrick. No orders coming from me as I have several knives already purchased for grand kid but mom won't allow it.

This is a very nice thing you are doing. My son already has his first knife, and his second, and third...but when it's time for the fourth, I will be looking at your website before any other. :):)

Also will be looking for myself when it's time for my next knife.

That is outstanding! I've been doing something similar here locally and NEVER, EVER talk about it since talking about it is NOT why I do it. I can share here because every member will understand why I do it.
We have a gun show here almost every weekend and invariably we have some legitimate knife vendors there as well. I attend quite a few of them. Unfortunately, we also have quite a few vendors selling the $5.00 Chinese import "gas station knives" as they are sometimes called. It pains me when I see the young kids at these tables and they are taken in by the assisted opening and shiny (tactical) aspect of these junk knives.
Here's what I do. I carry several Buck's, SAK's, Kershaws, Case, etc. in my pack. When one of these young kids is looking for a knife and walks away, I approach the parents and ask if I can give the son or daughter a knife. If the parent agrees, I pull out one of the knives and present it to the youngster after I have asked them for a coin as tradition dictates.
I enjoy it and it's a great way to get the youngsters involved in our passion for knives.

Thank you Derrick for this wonderful show of generosity! My hats off to you sir.

A huge thank you for the fine gesture.
Order placed for my two kids. They are hoping its home by the time we get home.
Kids:)

Here's a funny story. My wife shot daggers out of her eyes when I told her that I was considering Derrick's offer, the looks toward me became even more venomous after I ordered and let her know I purchased another knife for myself as well. Now she told me to get my daughter one as well!

It goes to show open communication and a little bit of time can help opress domestic violence!

Very generous. Thanks for supporting our hobby and helping to recruit the young ones.

Ordered one for my son, he will be thrilled. Thank you very much for the awesome gesture.

I am happy to help children out, but I cannot, and will not be held responsible for domestic violence. So my advice to you is, "Duck."

Great advice. I have a just turned 5 year old, and a 9 year almost 10 year old.

They each already have knives.

I bought each a matching GEC made Schrade trapper, and each has an Opinel. The GEC's are for when their nails get stronger.

The Opinels are different size and models.

For the 5 year old. He got iT when he was 4? I took a stone to the edge and tip.
It will cut veggies, but not skin. He is not ready for that yet.

One thing that happened, we were breaking down a pile of boxes. The 9 year old and I. Both using Opinels. The 4 year old wanted to go get his un sharpened one. He came running out of the house with one of my razor sharp ones!

SCARY! It could have ended poorly. He won't handle my knives, but he thought that one was his!

My 9 year old has seen me seriously cut my self (needing stiches, emergency care, and was told to get surgery to fix the nerve damage).

He is very cautious with knives.

Very nice of you..We can always use some future in knife support..

Good on you!

WOW! Derrick you rock! Hats off to you and my next knife purchase will be from Knives Ship Free.
No kids so far and I took care of the nieces and nephews already. I will let my friends know so they can hook up their kid.
Cheers.
Billy

This is an incredible gesture! I just ordered one for my 10 yr old daughter and I can't wait to surprise her with it!

I have been browsing your site a lot but haven't ordered anything for myself yet. That will be changing very soon!!!

Thanks again for a great program!
