I keep my spare mag in a leather slip and drop it into my pocket. I had the same problem as you, not so much sweat, but pocket lint and dirt from working, etc.

So probably going to pick up a "somewhat" entry level AR next weekend, and I'm looking for suggestions. I'm a lefty, but since I have an IWI Tavor Sar in lefty config already, I'm debating whether I should get a Stag Arms 15 lefty or just get a righty AR with ambi controls, to make it easier for my righty family to use.

I'm looking to spend ~$1000.

You can buy ARs for under $500 today Bernie. With a $1000, you can build a nice mid tier one.

my neighbor has a PSA AR-9 that works great for him. I’ve never owned a PSA but wouldn’t be opposed to it. They seem decent for the price category.

If i miss my monthly range session my entire carry gun looks like that by the time the next practice / cleaning day rolls around!
