So probably going to pick up a "somewhat" entry level AR next weekend, and I'm looking for suggestions. I'm a lefty, but since I have an IWI Tavor Sar in lefty config already, I'm debating whether I should get a Stag Arms 15 lefty or just get a righty AR with ambi controls, to make it easier for my righty family to use.

I'm looking to spend ~$1000.
Look around a bit and you will be very surprised what you will find in todays world of ban fears…” a friend of mine” picked up not one but two LEO restricted 6920 in the last month for 1K each. He was very mad after the boating accident!

Its a little more difficult in Chicagoland, everything is MSRP or greater.

Ain’t nothing wrong with a PSA. They are one of the best values you can get in an AR. I built one for myself and built one for my wife and they both shoot lights out! Plus, PSA has done so much in the name of our 2A. They’re about to start kicking out ammunition too.

Check https://www.aeroprecisionusa.com/ar15/upper-receivers/complete-uppers , their complete uppers are around or below $500. Primary Arms have very nice LPVO options. I put together a 16” rifle for around a $1000
