Lol. I actually don’t. I love seeing photos of other peoples AKS-74u clones, but I prefer shooting with a 16” barrel. It’s a great plinker. I’d love to someday mount a TA44 on an RS Regulate mount. The trigger is super slick. I think it has a lot of potential with the 16” barrel.I hope you plan on chopping that barrel.
Fair enough. What trigger is in there? A Tapco or ALG? I’ve always liked the TA44, but I find it fills an odd area for me.Lol. I actually don’t. It’s an ALG. I’ve forgotten the exact flavor but it’s incredible. I installed a similarly coated ALG in an AR and it wasn’t even close to the same experience. ALG really nailed that AK unit, or else it just plays well with this particular example.Fair enough. What trigger is in there? A Tapco or ALG? I enjoy NFA items, but once you Form 1 a NFA item you are married to it for life (speaking from experience).
I’ve heard great things about the ALG AK triggers. I might swap one into my 9mm SBR.It’s an ALG. I’ve forgotten the exact flavor but it’s incredible. Yeah my experience with Trijicon is limited. I had a TA33 years ago, and a reflex sight. I loved the size and weight but the cost premium is insane. I generally prefer LPVO these days but in the case of this rifle I think a TA44 would just “fit” nicely. I hate to spend that on a 1.5x is all. We’ll see.
Yeah it’s a mental hurdle for me. I’ve never done an NFA item before. Also, once it’s chopped I can’t exactly un-chop it. I feel like I need to instal an optic and explore it’s current plinking potential before I consider going the NFA route. If I’d planned to chop it I also probably should have grabbed the more retro wood-handguard-and-skeleton-stock variant. Those look incredible as AKS-74u clones!
Nice! I think you’d like it. The ALG is the slickest, shortest, and lightest I’ve tried so far. Hopefully it’ll be a winning combo in yours. I’ve only tried the Tapco G2 and RedStar in a few Saiga, Vepr, and CAI rifles. Each flavor of AK is such a different experience.I’ve heard great things about the ALG AK triggers. I definitely see where you are coming from on the ACOGs, they are nice and robust with great glass. The price is steep for a TA44, that is Aimpoint T2 price. The LPVO route is something I’ve been dragging my feet on checking out, maybe I should try and go from there.
That’s definitely a good call to try out the rifle completely before you commit. I went off the deep end with my first SBR and didn’t even shoot it before filing the paperwork. I’m glad it all worked out in the end as I would have hated to have a SBR I hated shooting.
You can always swap out the furniture, I know Warsaw Wood Company makes a wood handguard set with MLOK inserts, plus the wood grips from Khyber Kustoms.
Black Talons??
Good looking wheel gun
Is that a newer or old school CZ? I bet it handles well
I bought it a few months ago brand new. It's heavy at 49 oz fully loaded. It's a damned sweet shooter and the most accurate pistol I own.Is that a newer or old school CZ? I bet it handles well![]()
