Hate to hear that about your SteyrWith the weather getting cooler (not the last few days though) I've been carrying my PX4 .40 S&W as concealment is easier with long pants and heavier shirts and/or a light jacket. I shoot it very well, up to 50 yards, further out white three dot sights get a bit difficult. My only wish is the handle was more sculpted. Even with a grip sleeve, it's just not ergonomic.
I like the idea of carrying double action for the first shot. Nothing against my Steyr M9 and Sig P365X SAS, but I guess since I generally carry with a remora beltless holster, it feels more secure as the Sig has a lighter trigger and no trigger safety.
I've unfortunately stopped carrying the Steyr. After over 5000 rounds through it, it's spitting brass straight into my face. I've been cut and burned because of the. Apparently it's an issue with the ejector, but for some reason a new ejector (from what I've read) doesn't fix the problem. Mine is a gray market model, imported by PW Arms before Steyr officially started importing them. It's kind of a hybrid of the M9 and the M9-A1. I'm not sure if Steyr will warranty it.
I'm thinking about getting a d/a hammer fired gun in a size between the Sig and the other two, but I want something with an optic mount and a good trigger.
My PX4 has the full LTT trigger job in a bag and the trigger bar, and I'm fairly happy with it. LTT doesn't do an optic cut on the PX4sc.
I've gotta sell my shotgun first so I'm not in a rush. I'm also considering getting my PX4's slide milled for an rmr plate. I also need to get a 1911 eventually.
I'd been considering an IWI Masada slim, but I'm not sure I want a fourth striker fired gun.
It’s an older model Olight I got on sales a while back before they made the smaller rechargeable models…it’s been good to meAny chance you could tell me about the light you’ve got mounted on there? I also have a Glock 19 and have been considering putting one on mine
I'm going to contact Steyr about it.Hate to hear that about your Steyr![]()
I still have my old Warrior that I carried for work with me, in some cases of broken pipes, I used to punch holes in drywall with it when nothing else around...It’s an older model Olight I got on sales a while back before they made the smaller rechargeable models…it’s been good to me![]()
Sorry to comment on an old pic, I'm a bit behind on this thread, but what kind of compass is that cool brass looking piece if you don't mind me asking? Thanks.
Well at least they respondEd quickly and gave you some information on possibly fixing it…not the best answer of course but it’s something to considerI got an email back from Steyr, and they do not warranty the PW Arms imported models. Apparently, those imports were from a military contract that wasn't fulfilled, and they were sold here before Steyr started importing them. They have an amalgamation of the original M9 and A1 parts. A1 Lower, M9 slide, barrel (universal) extractor, etc.
The rep at Steyr said that I could order the three replacement parts for the extractor and it should fix the problem. I hope, I love that gun. What a great trigger, though that may be in that it has over 5000 rounds through it and is well broken in, but mine is nearly as good as my Canik TP9 SFX. The only thing is the reset is not very audible.
I've heard mixed results on this extractor fix, but if it does work, I'm going to try to locate an S9-A1 as a go between of my full size pistols and my P365X SAS. I'll probably but a red dot adaptor plate on it with a holosun.
Very impressed with their CS. I emailed them at 4:16pm CT yesterday and heard back at 8:56am today.
For a 12 year old gun (older actually, but I bought it new in 2011) with that many rounds through it, it's not a big deal. It cost $42 for all the parts with shipping. I should be able to do the repair myself.Well at least they respondEd quickly and gave you some information on possibly fixing it…not the best answer of course but it’s something to consider![]()
Yeah, Hogue uses some really nice material for their grips. I've never got a bad set from them. That’s some great looking grain running through that grip, what’s the pistol?
