I love this gun but disassembly is complicated. Going to do a thorough cleaning, and swap in a new "high energy" recoil spring from Shooting Sight. Basically it causes the gun to have more gas go out the barrel by cycling faster. Currently it makes to much go out the ejection port which causes it to be super smelly, especially with cheaper/older ammo. I've gone through most of that thankfully.

Wow!! And did I mention WOW! I'm shooting a 255 grain semi-wadcutter in my 45Colt. What is the recoil like?

Not responding to your original question, but this .45 Colt has 325 grn. Buffalo Bore ammo. Not gonna lie, I start to flinch after 6:oops:

Well, with my busted knee I couldn't get the old recoil spring off as my workbench is standing height and it's just too difficult. I'm just going to take it to the local gunsmith as I'm probably going to be in a knee brace for another 3-4 weeks, perhaps more if I need surgery. I've never used a gunsmith, I normally do everything myself. I'm going to call around to see who might be familiar with the gun and can do the spring swap.

You lost me at “disassembly is complicated “ 😂😫

Yeah, my M1 carbine all you need is a flathead or knife and you can completely strip it down. Beautifully simple.

You can do a basic bore and bolt carrier cleaning on the Tavor without taking it down much, but a thorough cleaning is more difficult, needing allen/hex bits, philips bit, barrel wrench, punches, plus miscellaneous stuff to take remove the bolt from the carrier. It's overbuilt to the point of annoyance.

Bad pic, but carrying my Steyr M9 today. I really wish I could find an S9-A1 for summer carry. There is almost no muzzle flip on this gun and the recoil is milder than any other 9mm I've shot. I feel like I can stay on target with it better. It's slimmer than my PX4 so for winter carry it's great. I'm so glad the replacement extractor worked, so no more brass in my face.
