Photos Knives & Guns

These days I'm around contractors all day. Decided to start carrying back in Feb, because some of them do ... and my wife basically manages them, a woman among a bunch of men.

Makes no difference legally if you conceal or not here, so I carry OWB with a shirt over it, but it's pretty obvious that it's there if you look for it. And I feel people react more to me being comfortable than the gun itself. Much like carrying a fixed blade. And the Sheriff and his guys actually encourage carrying.

Anyways, I understand that - for instance - Florida is legally the same now and was wondering about other states and how it translates to people behaving around guns.

When I was in PA a decade ago, I spoke with a husband and wife that were both open carrying. I asked how much interaction the guns caused. From what they said, people either did not notice or did not say anything.
I spoke to a gentleman here a year or so ago and I received a similar response. He did add that he could tell it was noticed as some people instantly went in the opposite direction, even if that was the direction they came from.
I do not open carry, but that is just me. I will owb carry with a cover garment. I only owb in the winter.
Someone might have issue with no mention strap. I control who gets in my space and how the interaction goes. Plus no one knows I am carrying or at least nothing has been said.

I almost always carry OWB & cover with a shirt tail, or a jacket. It's still pretty obvious, but nobody's ever said anything, other than some guys wanting to talk about guns. Technically, it's considered concealed. Plus, in PA, if you're going to carry a loaded firearm in a vehicle, you need the concealed permit, so I've had one for well over 30 years.

And, to keep things on track, here's a pic of my "snake gun." I keep it loaded with .38 bird shot. Every Spring, the nasty water snakes invade the stream that runs through our property, and if left alone, would kill all the frogs, and small fish. The PA Fish Commission says it's illegal to kill the snakes, but this S&W .357 is what I use. I mean.......it's what I'd use if it were legal, of course.

My old Labrador, Gunny, absolutely loved going along the stream, catching & killing those snakes, but he's gone, and the lab we have now just never caught on to the fun.

Alabama.

I can carry open or concealed here, no big deal, but I was just being facetious.

It would obviously be ludicrous to carry a 6 inch python concealed appendix. 🤪
What part of Bama? I don’t know many BF folks in my state.

Here in Alabama, we have constitutional carry, open or concealed. Just about everyone I know owns guns, and most carry.

It is very common here that a lot of people carry, and for the most part, nobody cares, or reacts at all. It's just part of everyday life here.

Concealed carry is more common than open carry, but I do often see people open carrying, and it's just no big deal.

And I almost never see anyone without a knife clipped in their pocket.

Tall and skinny, it could probably be pulled off unless you needed to sit down. Not so tall and / or not so skinny, that might be a challenge. Typed by someone that falls into the not so tall and not so skinny categories.

I'm 6'3" and 190 Lbs. So I'm in the tall and skinny category.
