Do you have a high pressure compressor to recharge the bottles from atmosphere , or a scuba tank , C02 , or just buy the small bottles ?It’s high pressure air, known as PCP (precharged pneumatic). It’s a FX Crown, I can switch it from .177 to .30 caliber. The bottle under the barrel is rated at 4,500 psi, the gun operates at 3,600 psi. It’s currently setup in 22cal. Yep the orange thing is its magazine.
Yes it used to be very costly when everything came out of Europe. Over the last 15 or so years they’ve gotten more popular in the states and that’s drove the entry level prices way down.Do you have a high pressure compressor to recharge the bottles from atmosphere , or a scuba tank , C02 , or just buy the small bottles ?
I used to know this stuff .
I looked at a higher caliber PCP system, long ago , that you could supposedly hunt medium sized game with . It was just too much for me to deal with the recharge and maintenance of such a high pressure system .
Still , I thought it was pretty cool !I still do .
Great pistol.
SIG made a mistake discontinuing this one in my opinion, and Glock should have introduced their single stackers a long time ago. I've never had a hangup over single stacks holding fewer rounds. Arguably, at least for those that don't have large hands, the slimmer grip aids faster consistent draw and shooting.
Great post! I'm a huge fan of airguns. I credit them with keeping up my accuracy over the years. Being a city slicker, it's a PITA to go a range all the time, not to mention expensive. I just set up a little indoor target using duct seal and blankets - good to go with the lower powered guns.Yes it used to be very costly when everything came out of Europe. You can use a hpa hand pump (40-200 $) compressor (150-2,000 $)or scba tank (200-1,500). I use a yong heng compressor ($200), if you have a dive shop nearby a scba tank is the way to go.
I imagine by now pretty much every species that walks the earth has been taken with an airgun. You can get them from .177 to .72 caliber. I’m not into the big bores really. It kind of defeats the reason for an airgun to me but each his own.
There’s to many benefits and cool attributes to list here, but I highly recommend them to anyone who likes shooting, especially if they have kids. It’s by far the best tool to teach someone how to shoot a gun.
Buying new you can get setup and shooting for well under $500 and there’s a good forum out there with a great classifieds so you can do really good on the used market.

I have a hand pump for a PCP rifle. It is not fun to pump. I only get 4-5 decently powered shots before pumping again.
My main carry now is a stock Centennial LCP Max , with a Hogue Beavertail grip , 12rd mags . Very compact , light , hi-cap .
