Who wants to bet Mom goes home with P365 today? lol

Actually, I'm looking at a CZ P-10 C with threaded barrel for her. Put a Holosun on it, a light, and a suppressor. My stepfather has severe tinnitus so I want to save his ears. Part of the gun will be property defense too, in case raccoons get into the chicken coop. Or meth heads looking for something to eat...

Shooting didn't quite go as planned. My mother (69 yo) has lost a lot of strength, and struggled shooting today. She's 5' 0" and 100lbs. She shot both the Sig and the Canik lights out, but couldn't rack the slide on the Canik, and barely the Sig. She's decided to hold off on getting her own gun until she gets her strength back.

10 yards, four pistols, both of us shooting. The errant shots were me trying to dial in the sights on the Chiappa Rhino and a rapid fire session with the Canik.

Maybe an option for her? Wife has arthritis so these became a game changer for her.

Another possible option is S&W's EZ line. No personal experience, but S&W advertises that they're easier to rack.

My wife has a Sig 938. It is easy to rack, 9mm and an all around good pistol. Designed for smaller hands.

I forgot to mention some good news. I can shoot two handed again, my shoulder has finally got strong enough to lift to that height.

I also finally got the sights on the chiappa rhino dialed in, and with better trigger control, its quite accurate and fun. If it weren't a potential carry gun, I would have the weight of the da trigger reduced a little. 10lbs is a lot.

Recycled pic of the Rhino.

My wife had the same problem with racking slides on my guns. She'd eventually get it done, but not reliably enough to EDC one. So, we went gun shopping for her. She settled on a S&W 642, but she wasn't accurate with it, because she struggled with the trigger pull.

Round two of shopping, and we came back with an Sig P938, 9mm. This one she fell in love with. They're like a miniature 1911. She can operate the slide easily, and she's accurate with it. Plus, it's slim & easy to conceal IWB, on the belt, or in a sticky holster in her handbag. I even carry it sometimes, when I absolutely want to conceal. Or, Sig has the P238 in .380, that's a tad smaller & lighter.
Here's the 938, with the extended mag, with a SAK Pioneer for scale.

I've been thinking about loaning the S&W model 36 .38sp I inherited from my grandpa. I'll throw some .38+p in it, even if its only 5 shots.

Its HIGHLY unlikely anyone would try to break into the house. Its on 2.5 acres and not visible from the road. Until we get to the bottom of why she lost so much weight (and strength) she wants to keep range time to a minimum. Next week I finally convinced her to go see a doctor and get blood work done.

This sounds exactly what my wife dealt with. Even after changing the springs in the 642, it is still very heavy pull.
Today I have a 1994 vintage Glock G23 on my side.
