I sold my 1st gen XD40, gave me a bloody trigger finger after 75 rounds. I've heard the 2nd gen was better. I bought the P365 SAS over the Hellcat, mainly because I liked the way it shot, especially the SAS model. I love the bullseye sight for the range, and the green lima for SD.

At the airport, so no knife or gun sadly.

My brother carries a P365 and one of the guys at the club has a Hellcat. My experience with them is limited but I prefer the P365. I'm still holding out for a new DA/SA in this size range but I'm starting to feel like I might be hung out to dry. Most days now, I just end up carrying an LCR.

Coincidentally, Springfield might have been the only company to release a DA/SA in the last generation of compacts. The XDE wasn't great, and I've wondered if that didn't work to put another nail in the coffin for my favorite action style. First things first, it wasn't as compact as it should have been. Instead of going with changeable magazine extensions like the PPS, they made it 5" tall. Unfortunately, that's the dimension that seems to matter most for compact carry. Another major complaint was the manual safety, which is both superfluous with DA/SA and a potential liability in defensive encounters. There was also that "grip zone" billboard on the early releases...

Seems to be the consensus with my friends also, P365 over Hellcat, but I think it does have a solid following. I agree and don’t think the XDEs sold well…and remember seeing deep discounts on them.

Now that's a fun opposite from the usual.

It can be fun as a challenge plinker. There is a certain charm in knocking cans off a stump with a tiny single-action.
True, it is a very challenging handgun. I can shoot most da/sa and striker fired handguns just fine, but that Pug is surprisingly difficult to shoot.
