Knives Illustrated Trivia question

I will admit I recently let my KI subscription run out after many, many years. I did notice the decline. Dave I see where you're coming from but feel you need to re-think this a bit.

Kevin and Coop just reminded me here that I need to resubscribe to KI and will also start receiving Tac Knives too. I've actually had a good bit of DHIII coverage in the Tac mag :D

I have been receiving Blade mag since the very early 80's. Don't think I've ever missed an issue.

Bruce, I appreciate the custom knife coverage but like most here, I'd like to see more.

An interesting thread, Karl...! And all because of a mis-spelled word

David's response captured my sentiments. If it was an occasional error, it would be one thing, but the prevalence of the errors in KI reflects poorly on its publication that is, as David states, "unprofessional and sloppy."

I also want to echo David's sentiment that I don't think most of us want KI to fail, but we do wish that "it was edited in a better manner."

It appears Tiger Woods is not the only unblemished celebrity this week. Here's a post off of the Blade Magazine forums written by editor Steve Shackleford:

I goofed.

As those of you who will be getting the March BLADE will soon see, the top bar cover blurb contains, as my colleague Mac Overton might say, an "egregious error." It reads as follows:

"SUPER STEEL! New Self-Sharpening Titanium Knife?"

Titanium, of course, is not a steel. To borrow from Wikipedia (good ol' Wikipedia), titanium is a chemical element. It has a low density and is a strong, lustrous, corrosion-resistant transition metal with a silver color.

In other words, it is a metal, not a steel.

Oh well, there goes my record of perfection. ;)

In the interest of being factually correct and providing BLADE readers with the most accurate information possible, it is imperative that I correct such errors when I make them.

Now, let the lambasting of your poor ol' country editor begin! :-0
(by permission)

I also got my issue of Knives Illustrated today. It's chockablock filled with cool articles and stuff, and a lot of stuff I probably won't read. Like any magazine.

Great photos from all providers, and the correct spelling of 'Cavalry' on Jerry Ahern's story coverpage.

Just sayin.... ;)
