Knives in the wild !

Pit man, how do you like that ka-bar?, I've thought about getting one a few times, but I like the spear point.

Hi Fonly,I have found it to be a great knife. The D2 holds an edge real well,I have only cut wood with it but it doesn't seem to get blunt and still fetches hairs off my arm.It really seems to bite into wood as well and fetches curls off for fire starting easy. The handle allows a lot of different grips as well and the spear point cuts notches well for inserting a bow when fire starting with a bow/drill !!!As I live in bear and cougar country I favoured the design for its penertration ability.
The only downside, and all knives have one,is the fact that when using it with a baton the top edge really chews up the baton !!!

As always, Pit Man, very good pictures.

HERE's the problem I have: Why do guys "quote" another post and leave the images in? It kills me on my slow connection. I've seen thread's where a guy posts a picture and he's quoted more than 4 times, and each time the photos are included in the new post and have to load again!!

It's killin me....just killin me. I'm losing precious nanoseconds off my life.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....I shore like the Kabar Impact spearpoint! But you know, anymore, that NRA Snody just doesn't look right without a dog in the background.

Yes it is Scott,it's a Rodgers of sheffield version,I just removed the coating and gave it a convex edge. The steel holds up real well.....I think of it as my poor mans Tusker, maybe one day I'll have the funds !!!:D

Very cool. I love to see things like that in nature. How far from the beaten path is it? I like it when I am way back in the woods and I find something like that, something unique and unusual. I know that I am one of only a few people that probably see it in a year or lifetime.

No nothing exciting I'm afraid,it was just off one of the main paths. Not that they see many people though, I didn't see single person on my hike !
