Knives & Motorcycles

Look a thread looking for modesty expensive stuff, everyone says they have the expensive stuff yet no pictures...

Things that make you go hum.

I see the Kawasaki KLR-650 is a popular choice. I am working on getting my bike license back after 22 years without one. I want a new bike and the Kawasaki fits in my budget. I am also considering a Yamaha SCR 950 or Bolt since I love that that V Twin rumble, and Yamaha is offering some nice rebates on those bikes. Honda 500 and 750 twins

Harley Davidson Heritage Soft Tail Classic : Super CQC-7B stone wash straight edge wave

Very custom '99 Suzuki GSXR 750 : regular CQC-7B black straight edge wave

Dirtbiking : CQC7-B black serrated no wave

I don't have any pics of my bikes and knives together. I will work on this.

Hum on that.

So, where's your bike?

Current bikes are a 2003 Kawasaki Mean Streak and a 1990 Kawasaki ZX10. Usually have a Manix 2 in my pocket.

I own many knives from many makers but my favorites are from Chris Reeve, Les George, and Hinderer. I carry those the most. I always have a SAKModder SAK on me too.

I remember not liking when these came out with the Rotax engines. They have proven themselves since though. A buddy and his GF went for a long-ish journey in mountainous terran.
Two adults, clothes, tent, food etc etc.
That little bike worked without a hitch for thousands of clicks.

Why the whistle?

My other pic must have been missed, this one shows the entire bike :D

Custom demko ad15 in my pocket in the picture.

I started riding in 2011. This is the first and only bike I’ve owned. I’ve put 20K miles since then. Briefly I considered stepping up to an F800 when we moved to Colorado this year but after riding up Pikes Peak and the surrounding area I didn’t see any need to do it. The F650 is really great on the dirt/gravel backroads and does what I need it to in the highways.

I also use those neck knives for hiking so I keep that whistle on the one I’m using for an emergency.

In what ways, if you don't mind me asking?
each person chooses a motorcycle individually for himself. He won't be on this bike to do work or drive a family. He also chooses a knife for himself. so I think that between motorcycles and knives that he chooses there is a connection

Interesting. Thanks for replying.

Very, very jealous of your location.. Riding Pike's Peak is something I've always wanted to do. I always said when I find the perfect bike I'll take a week or so and ride out there for a weekend, just riding Pike's.

We have lots of mountain trails in Pennsylvania, but they're mostly dirt trails and such. I do have this one decent road, 74, that travels up and down Ickesburg Mountain that I used to have fun with on the Ninja, only the wildlife darting across the road sure scared the everliving shite out of me. Now I mostly mosey on up it on the KLR from to time, haha.

I just moved here from DC. There is nice riding here but I miss the Appalachians. The peaks aren’t as tall but I think their twisties are superior.

That's one thing I hear a lot from riders traveling through from other places/states. They tend to always comment about how much they like the roads around this part of country and will travel here just for that. I may be a bit guilty of taking it all for granted.
