For me it's most of them, at some point.
Usually happens when I'm exploring a new knife, getting used to its action and quirks, and fiddling with it. The only notable exception I can think of was when I closed a knife I was quite familiar with, my EDC Emerson Mini CQC-7BW, without looking (not unusual!) but also too quickly, and neatly sliced off the tip of my thumb.
It turned out to be more like a broad cut across all the skin at the top, as it didn't take much meat with it. It grew back just fine.![]()
It is Never the knifes fault. Was it the knife's fault?
Sorry about that. I know what you are talking about and I completely agree with you. I meant that part as like a liner lock fail or if the knife “failed” on you while using it.It is Never the knifes fault.
Either I was careless, or someone else was. The knife is inanimate, and cannot jump up and stab/cut me.
That is like saying that a gun shot someone or a spoon made someone fat... It is always the operator, not the tool...

Hahaha me too! I have flipped open a couple knives that flew out of my hands and my first thoughts were "I wished I could have caught that before it hit the floor" Thankfully none of them suffered any damage!Generally if I really like a knife I will carry it often enough that it will eventually bite me.
That said I have only bit badly by two knives. My Emerson Super karambit under some dumb circumstances. Also my Shivwocrks clinch pick. I dropped the clinch pick tip straight down and it hit my middle toe. The tip went straight to the bone and bounced. Blood came right up out of the cut.
Here’s how you know I’m a knife nut. My first thought was “thank god it hit my foot, atleast the tip won’t be hurt. “
The worst bite I ever received was from a Kabar Dozier. For whatever reason, I thought it would be acceptable to tighten an Emerson pivot with the spine of the Dozier. I was taught a pretty good lesson in the form of numerous stitches and permanent numbness in my pointer finger. To boot, it happened late on a Sunday so I had to find a way to stabilize the gash until morning.
