Knives that look better with scratches

Older pic, but yep.

Unless it's an absolute safe queen, all knives look better with a few real scratches. I hate seeing pics of an obviously unused knife when the caption claims it's an EDC knife.
That drives me nuts. A pic of a knife with a shiny new blade in a steel like M4 that patinas if you fart near it in an EDC thread is hilarious. Carried from the safe to the kitchen table, I guess.

Here is my crappy S&W that I have beat up for a couple of summers. This knife doesn’t owe me anything. I just replaced it with a shiny new (for now) ESEE 6.

I like Chris Reeve stuff with wear on the Ti.
They wear it well :D
It can be difficult to capture fully in photos though.

I agree. Every time I'm sent a well worn example for sharpening I have to fight off the urge to buy one. They get that same work-polished feel as an old wrench. Just a nice thing to hold.

I may be the only one, but I don't really like the looks of blade scratches.
I use my knives and they get scratches, but a scratched up stainless blade isn't something I find to look " good " in any way.
I don't mind the look of worn off blade coatings though.

Now a well patina'd carbon steel blade is a thing of beauty, and I love how it disguises scratches.

I was just going to say "All of them.".

Nah. I don't like the looks of scratches. I just accept them as the price of collecting what are for the most part tools.

I guess all knives built to abuse fit this thread, so I agree on the Busse group knives. If you have a knife not built for hard use and you're still keep scratching it up, you might be using it wrong/not maintaining it properly.
