So I own a few CRKT'S that I bought as the only way to afford particular mechanisms, and a couple Frost pieces from my teenage years...but this is the first time I've actually felt kinda dirty upon acquiring a new knife.

I traded into it mainly because the Kershaw ET is a poor example of the Toggle lock. I have no excuses, I went into it fully aware of the scumbaggery surrounding Jared :(

On my next set of days off I plan on doing some heavy mods to attempt de-stoopid-ization...mainly dehorning the thumb ramp that blocks 2/3 of the flipper when closed and the "stab you in the palm" tail, along with a possible regrind.

Let's see the ones you secretly fondle in the dark ;)

For me it's the idea of buying my first Strider. I am adamantly against and disgusted by what he did, and I've heard that rock lock and stick are basically guaranteed, but something about the silhouette calls to me. And I hate finger choils so that makes it even more of a mystery. Maybe I can absolve my guilt by buying used and knowing that money is going to a Bf member and not Burger. Those Protech Striders look pretty snazzy, does anyone if they're any good?
Damn, now you've got me feeling like I need a bath....

What if the seller now goes and buys a new one with the funds you just have him.
That second knife may have sat unsold if you didn't buy his on the exchange.

No easy around guilt and disgust. You may dislike yourself for it, which will cause you to not want to carry it.

Now say you go and sell it, and the buyer was trying to decide between CRK, Strider, and Wayfarer. Now he buys your Strider and now wants to buy a new one...

Stay strong man, Don't do it.
Morals only mean something to the individual. Don't go against yours.

That being said, I don't own a knife that I am ashamed of.
CRK, CPK, ZT, Spyderco, GEC, Mora, a Lionsteel soon, a few customs mafe in America, and old American made traditionals.

LOL. Yeah, I've only been fighting the urge to pick up a CRK clone and even I feel like slime.
It's not a clone, clones are identical.
What you would get is a forgery, imitation, or at best, it would be lost in the mail and you were only out the cost of the knife and didn't have your hands in jeopardy...

Might I suggest the Sanrenmu Land 9103? Same profile, different materials, and it's clearly marked Land, so no fake logos at least... Unless that was what you wanted?

I actually got my hands on my first Strider (SmF) a couple weeks ago. Honestly, the knife was pretty dang good...none of the reported issues and the ergos were very nice when using the choil. My biggest gripe was the pocket clip, the placement even with the lockbar cutout made it almost impossible to remove from even a relatively thin pocket edge seam.

Now the man (Mick), even with my having never served, the stolen valor/mall ninja aspect did make me feel dirty.

It has recently been traded for my first Hinderer (XM-24 Wharnie) which should be here tomorrow :D.

I purchased a couple Real Steel folders before I knew their connection to Sanrenmu. Still feel dirty for that.

No fake logos for me. The only reason I am considering one is to check out the basic ergonomics of the knife. It is much, much cheaper for me to buy a fake than to take time off work and drive to the nearest CRK dealer just to find out the knife won't fit my hand.

Can you tell me if the 9103 is based on the large or small Sebenza?

Probably my chinese bm 47 thats called a "the one" but I don't feel to bad cause I own a real 42 and they don't make that series anymore. So, nevermind I don't actually feel bad about it.

Once upon a time I bought the 151 package of Frost knives for $151, from the late night infomercial. I was 19 at the time and sold the fixed blades to a pawn shop for $10each. I sold enough to pay for the lot then gave away nearly all of what remained.
Every now and then I come across one or two in my garage.

At least this design isn't stolen. I still wouldn't encourage the purchase, but some of the blame can be placed on Hawk Knives I think for licensing it to QTRTURD.

I purchased a WE Knife 604 Dragon Scale Flipper with Two Toned Tanto blade. It has blue anodized titanium scales and bright purple hardware. Tackiest knife I've ever owned and yet I love it! Amazing action. outstanding construction and beautiful finish and machining. Carries nicely and the S35VN reprofiled and sharpened up beautifully. Not crazy about the made in China part.

yeah true, but those real steels are pretty good knives for the price points. least the designs as far as i know aren't copied...or are they?
