Knives You Like Enough to Own Spares?

I own multiple SAK Farmers. Thats it for duplicates for me though. When I find the perfect fixed blade for me, I will have more then one.

At least 6 SAK farmers, one for each vehicle and various hiking/hunting/bug-out bags. And at couple of Camper models too.
3 Bark River Goloks
3 Cattaraugus 225Q (2 original, 1 new-not NEARLY as good as the originals)
2 Microtech SOCOM
2 Bark River Rogues
2 Comb customs
2 HAKs

That's about it for now.

I have three delicas, though one's serrated, one's plain, and the third's zdp189, so they're not really the same.

then there are these.

I have no spares. I have multiples of the same pattern or quite a few similar knives, but no exact spares. The Enduras are one that I have two of but with different blade edge and scales. The only knife that I wish I had a spare of is the SAK Adventurer. I just picked up another SAK today. Guns, that is another matter, as I love spares!!

I have quite a few cheap SAK kitchen knives. Not considered spares. We use them all. They are excellent for the price.

I have an extra NIB Busse Basic 7 and Basic 9. I had planned to trade the extras for something I don't have. However, if I lost the "user" 7 and 9, it would cost me a lot to replace them with comparable size Busses available today. So the spares sit in the safe like insurance policies.

Endura& Delica All versions & most colors
MT Socom Elite MA S90V
Camillus EDC ( 1 in every blade steel & talonite)
Kershaw Blurs ( 1 of each including the rare S60V)
Leeks

You lucky, lucky, lucky...

I would love to give the basics a try - as it is I have to 'make do' with Fallknivens for rubber handles.

Buck 110, Kershaw Blur, Spydie S30V Native, and various Vic SAKs, inc the Farmer - anything I EDC.

Stainz

I have 3 Bark River Ultra-light Bushcraft knives. One for me, one I am going to give to my son and one to have in reserve

Foxyrick,

The 7/9 were popular but people really seemed to go crazy for the Basic 5, of which I have only one. The Basic 5 blade is a great size. However, Busse made the rubber handles smaller on the 5 and 3. My hands aren't especially large and the grip on the 5 still feels a bit undersized. If they had put the handle from the 7/9 on the 5, that would have been a terrific combination.

I know those Fallknivens will perform great too!

I don't really have any knives that are exact duplicates of each other with the exception of the Swamp Warden. Technically one belongs to my wife. My wife has a couple of knives that are the same model as ones I have but they have different handles of blades.
I have a Sage and Green Busse Active Duty and she has a black and blue one. My Kershaw Leak is blue hers is red. We also have a couple of CRKT M-16s and Benchmade Griptians but they are different sizes and blade styles so not quite.
Most of my knives fill a certain role and can be rotated or used in the event of damage or loss of another blade.

Magnum22, those cadets are pretty nice, eh? Shares edc duties with my farmers.
It could fit in a big wallet.

I see a common theme - SAKs and Moras! I hope other manufacturers are paying attention. Make a quality product at a fair price and people will flock to it!

2 SAK Farmers plus a couple other SAKs, one of the other stuff. Theme indeed.

Ive got 4 spyderco natives in different versions.

They are my all time favorite EDC. touch, good steel, good grip, useful blade, perfect for a backup blade for a night out in the woods of a primary blade for a short hike.

I have some "doubles" which have sand and dark coatings - these were until not long ago just a sand and black pair of Fairbairn Sykes. Since getting into Bussekin knives I recently picked up the following pairs:

A Dog Father LE and the new Sand Coated DFCG which has the same flat grind as the DFLE.

A tank gray and a black crinkle DFCG with heavier sabre grind.

Two Skinny Ash's - one as a spare. The user is stripped and convexed. The spare is still painted Green blade and Green Linen handles. The Convex has Green Linen handles as well.

I also picked up two standard FSH with a double cut finish and green linen standard handles - again having one as a spare incase the other is lost.

It was Horn Dog who put me onto the idea of having spares with Bussekin knives as the models are often not repeated. Having come over to the States recently for a holiday and going to Knob Creek.....the chance to score these knives at great prices simply made it sensible to make the most of it.

I doubt I will keep all of the above. I got them to do a bit of a personal assessment as to what works best for me. I think it would be safe to say the two FSH will stay. The others are undetermind. I guess being in the UK means you need to "buy before you try"......with these knives as they are not easily found over here to pick them up and try to get a "feel" as to whether they will work well for you.
