Knives you regret not buying.

I'm usually not one for caring about the price or value of a knife going up or down, but man I had so many opportunities to get a Chris Reeve Ti-Lock and I just didn't want the knife. The resale on them at the current moment is insane.

I regret not stocking up on Benchmade 42s and 710s before they were discontinued.

I regret not getting a bunch of Spyderco Slysz Bowies.

I regret not buying out the rest of the Vehement Knives Proteus and Kuto Misas from KSF in early 2017.

ZT 0392s, especially the 0392PurBlk and the 0392BluBowie. Those were coming out just as I started getting into higher end knives, but mid $200s was my limit back then. I think I remember those versions sitting for a few days (maybe it was just one of them), because they already released a bunch of the other colors, but for like $450 they were a bargain…(that was before Hinderers used 20CV, lockbar inserts and bearings IIRC, which made the ZT extra cool). And the last real “limited editions” I believe.

More from Gene Ingram before he quit making. In particular more custom patterns, where I'd send him a photo and he'd dupe it.

Other than that nothing really stands out. It seems like knives keep getting better and that takes the sting out of missing something.

I do have one - I regret not picking up a backup large Sebenza 21 bog oak back when they were just sitting on dealers’ shelves a couple of years ago. I did get one, but at that point I was living in NYC and it was too large a knife for me to carry on a daily basis. Now that I’m out in the burbs though I wish I had another so I didn’t have to worry about babying it.

I kinda regret skipping this one.

But I did get this one instead so still really happy with my choice.

My favorite WE knife, the Fornix. Have one in Ti but not in the black finish. Since I only purchase Chinese knives on the secondary market and the Fornix was a Limited Edition, I‘ve waited months for one to come up for sale. Now, thanks to forum member Hulk513 Hulk513 , I now own a LNIB example! Guess I can relax now. 😁

My non-purchase regrets are mostly from the Exchange.
Chief among my regrets is passing on a CF Medford Infraction…twice. Once in 3V, once in S35. I really love the Infraction, but the all Ti ones are too pocket heavy for my tastes.

There’s also been 2 or 3 Sebenzas I shoulda grabbed, but I’ve managed to mostly satisfy my CRK desires over the years.
