Knives you think are cool/neat but don't buy?

I have always thought the OKC3S was the coolest thing I ever saw. But they were too big and too expensive with no real practical use so I never jumped. Now that Ontario is closed I don't know if they will ever be available again outside of the secondary market.

Just for a reference, I'm not talking about money limitations. I want to know the knives you think look extremely cool but won't buy them for one reason or another.
The cel shaded knives. I think they look really cool, but you're paying a lot for that finish. If you scuff it up through use (which I would) it seems like $$$ down the drain

Huntsman’s big beautiful blades as they would be wasted on me. Too much and too cool to be safe queens. I have one of his “Twisted Soul” blems because I could justify it and I have used it as intended. The Tyrant Bowie will remain a dream.

They are worth it 😉

Matter of opinion. 🤷‍♂️

Is it +2x's better than the full sized Koenig Arius that I just bought?? 🤔

I doubt it but if I can get one for the same price (or less) than the price I paid for the Arius, as well as a Shiro for, I'd certainly buy one.

Bought both of these for less than the asking price of all of the XLs that I've seen.

Still looking but I'm not going to my breath until I find one. ;)

The Arius is a different animal. If you are vigilant, occasionally deal will pop up. I scored my XL for less than $800 if memory serves.

I love the looks of a nice fixed Karambit, some of the Bastinelli models I really like, but I know I’d never carry it, or leave it on desk as a letter opener for my 2 kids to find🩹

I’ve got 2 OTF Microtechs, but they just sit in safe, I should probably convert them into a knife I could put in carry rotation, but just keep them ‘cause I guess.

Still too much for one IMO but that's just me. 🤷‍♂️

However, if you see an Oz XL going for $500-600, please let me know. LOL!!! ;)

When you’re used to carrying conventional blades, aggressively curved karambits can give you a whoopsy daisy, particularly when drawing and resheathing. They demand that you pay attention lol.

Reate EXO: I'm willing to overlook the Chinese origin because I think it's such a cool design, but it's not cheap and I'm worried I'll get bored of fidgeting with it and dump it in my "cool, but meh" drawer.

BK-16: A genuinely excellent design, but how many ~4 inch drop point fixed blades do I really need?

Benchmade Presidio: Looks like a perfect folder with a great lock, but I've been burned by S30V from Benchmade before and I'm not willing to try it again.

There are a LOT I feel this way about. I don't buy them because of cost, or lack of need, or they just don't fill a niche, and I don't have any room left to display anything.

There are some Randalls I like.
A couple double edge, the Harsey Spartan Dagger because the handle is too small for my hands.
Large Sebenza. I was thinking of one, but the SHF I bought on impulse a couple weeks ago is very similar.
Winkler Crusher Belt Knife... handle just doesn't fit my big hands well.
Bradford for the same reason. And I like more of a guard to keep my hand from slipping onto the blade. Some permanent nerve damage from that happening has made that a bit of a priority.
ESEE... cool, but just not cool enough to buy if that makes sense.
The Salvos by Derek Rausch, but everytime I see it, I'm tempted more.
A handful of Toor knives. Hand fit or overlap with some others I have.
My local knife shop has a knife by Edmnund Davidson, an Integral Camp Knife that is awesome. But $3k is more than I can justify. But damn it's an awesome knife. A single piece of S7 with black micarta. https://www.bladeconnection.com/shopexd.asp?id=107284
The Bush Utility by Johann De-Witt is nice and tempts me everytime I see it, but I just can't really think of when I'd carry it.
Zero Tolerance 0006. I like it, but at the same time it doesn't call out to me. I might get it just for the hell of it as it's a rugged slab of CPM-3V.
There's a Japanese maker that has some cool knives, but they are more than I want to spend.
There is also another South African maker that has some nice Loveless style fighers. But they don't call out to me enough to buy one. Part of that is the steel used.

Experience.

That's my reason.

I won't buy any more knives like these:

This design really trips my trigger, but it just doesn’t work. Not one of these is a functional one-hander. The Shrade almost gets it, but has that glaring safety issue. All the rest just have too much friction, even after trying to loosen them up. So, no more. Keeping these as reminders. Won't do it. Nope.
...unless someone makes one on bearings...

Curious, if you could only have one 4” fixed blade, what would you recommend?
