Ah I see. Even if money were no object, it’s Emerson knives for me. The CQC7 in particular looks really cool. But the chisel grind kills it for me. If they made more blades in full flat grind or hollow grind, I think more people would buy Emersons.Just for a reference, I'm not talking about money limitations. I want to know the knives you think look extremely cool but won't buy them for one reason or another.
Microtech
I really like the stitch, the MSI is super sexy (I may end up buying one if I find one on the exchange here) and the ultra tech or whatever the autos are called.
They are all really cool but pricey.
You'll get there....Basically any ole timey slip joints.... as much as Id like a Poroshyn, Hanson, Meades or any other custom maker...
Im clinging on to my youth............. (im 36)
That's because they stopped making it. The 31 doesn't have any of the qualities I loved so much about the 21. IMO, they went out of their way to appease the youtube knife reviewer checklist and everything they changed made the knife worse. This has now to a large extent stopped, but the "save some money and get a Sebenza" used to be the usual answer to anybody asking for advice or opinion on any knife, even people saying that their budget was under $50.
I'm not the biggest fan of the PM2, but I have a couple. I can tell you they carry better than many knives and the blade is far from an afterthought. This is coming from a Manix 2 fan.Spyderco PM2. I love the knife in concept, but I carry a knife more than I use one, and the PM2 is just a little large.
To me, the handle is a work of art. Yet, the blade seems to be an afterthought. Put the blade from a D'Allara 3 on it, and you would have an amazing knife.
I have considered a Para 3, but there's something about it that just doesn't work for me. Maybe I can't justify the purchase. Not really sure.
Carothers DEK-1. Ive got one, hence the "why bother" attitude.
I get it. The DEK-1 and the EDC series are two of my favorites. I have never found them for sale at reasonable prices.
I know that it is a very well-designed knife, and the blade is not an afterthought. It just looks that way to me. The graceful curves of the handle and the straight spine of the blade just don't fit well in my mind.I'm not the biggest fan of the PM2, but I have a couple. I can tell you they carry better than many knives and the blade is far from an afterthought. This is coming from a Manix 2 fan.
I remember seeing a movie in the 70s or 80s where some dude was flipping one & I thought they were so COOL! Then I actually had one in hand & tried doing some "tricks". Immediately cut myself. I admire them but they're not for me LOL.Balisong! I think they are cool and have a neat history and obviously an original design. I can’t see myself ever getting one or using it if I did.
I’ll second that! PM2 = great carry user knifeI'm not the biggest fan of the PM2, but I have a couple. I can tell you they carry better than many knives and the blade is far from an afterthought. This is coming from a Manix 2 fan.
I hate it when that happensHad a PM2 briefly some years ago. Gave it to an LEO who liked it more than me. Never looked back.
