Knives you think are cool/neat but don't buy?

spyderco smock. Just can’t pull the trigger on one. Not sure about that choil and the button looks like it’s in the wrong spot
Sold mine too. I wouldn't mine getting a knife made by the man himself though. The production knives are just pretty meh.

Recent was looking at the Vosteed brand of knives . Just for example .

Some interesting designs ...but just too small . Folder blades under 3" .

And that seems to be a trend now . Ideally , for me closer to 4" , or more .

Yeah, I get it. The trouble is that I've already got plenty of cool knives that I play with more than I actually use. No complaints, but I've got to weigh my options.

Dangit, now I want a Tai Pan even more.
Just kinda yanking your chain . :)

I actually do also try to limit / budget the purely toy blades . It's not like I have any toy shortage .

I think CKF knives are cool looking and owners say they are well built. Of course, after you pay $500-$700(2x or 3x that for customs/regrinds/timascus), you're gonna need to say something. I've handled some over the years and they are nice enough, but so are nice Reates. Which brings me to the idea of how much of a CKF knife is made in China vs how much is made in Russia or Eastern Europe? Is it different for different knives? I'd be interested to hear peoples' thoughts on the split between China and Russia on most CKF knives - and if you like them. I might even end up with one someday.

IIRC they are parts cut and manufactured in China and assembly/final finishing is in Russia, but it’s been a while since I really tried to suss it all out.

Big Choppers : I think they look awesome, and even had 2 nice custom choppers, but just never used them, and would rather put the equity into knives that are easier to carry and get more pocket time. I am not an avid camper, so wood processing isn't anywhere close in priority. I have 2 production choppers that will keep me satisfied.

Big Bowies : Similar to the choppers, amazing looks and lines, but they serve absolutely no purpose practically for me. So I just drool over them.

WE knives : Many of their designs are pretty great, and they are priced well for the materials and quality, but there are several USA companies I also like so I give them the nod when I'm in the market at that price range.

OTF's : I'll own 1 one day to get an example of the action, but they strike me more of a self defense or fidget knife, and I'm more of a utility EDC type guy.

Microtech : I like the futuristic look and the custom hardware. I had a couple over the years, but I just didn't want to dull them or scratch them, so they got traded. I still think I might want a socom elite one day.

Reate T6000 / T1000. Love the look of them but I just never buy.

Back many years ago, I bought one of the Hibben double shadow knives at a gun show. My young self thought it was the coolest knife ever. (I still think it is cool, just not very functional)
At the time I looked at that one and the silver shadow and had to decide between the two. For years now I have thought about going back and buying the silver shadow, but I know I wouldn't do anything with it so I haven't had the proper moment of weakness overcome me yet. 🤣

Randall made and Chris Reeves knives, like them both, but in another league for cost. Nothing wrong with them, but a five year wait for a Randall? Wow. CRK knives are top notch designs, but still a grail knife, liked them since I was in high school, especially the hollow handle one piece steel fixed blades.
