Knives You Won’t Sell

The day I heard my brother died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl I was rolling into work. Broke my heart and I had to take a two hour walk and have a good cry. Later that day I gave a shot for a SDFK on a Friday sale. Got one, best part is the last words I told him were I love you brother and he help d get me into knives, won’t be sold on my watch and I plan on beating it up and sending it down a generation. Didn’t mean to go TMI but that is the one knife I won’t sell

My condolences for your devastating loss........

I had this little folder made for my late Dad by Howard Hitchmough and engraved by a local South African engraver. It lived in a display case in his front room until he passed, when it came back to me.
I won't sell it but I am planning to gift it to a family member.

Usually none of mine are for sale, but these in particular is for sure not for sale

Incredible!!!!!!!!

I have sold two knives in my life, one was a Puma 959 Hunting folder from the 60's and I got a pretty penny for it.
The other one was a Strider DB, that I got rid of when I found that the knife was all hype and no cut. (I discovered later that Micky Burger was a dishonorable scam)

Occasionally I'll gift a knife to someone, but other than that my knives are mine and stay with me for the time being.

I collect knives . . . mostly Kabar, SOG, OKC, and Buck knives. The jewel of my collection is a stainless Next Generation tanto knife made by Kabar (#1270) that has been discontinued.

I do struggle with computer stuff, so how do I place a photo in here from my phone?

I've sold many knives over my 30+ years of collecting. I've reached the point where my collecting has slowed, this is due to age and no desire to burden anyone more than I already will. Last year I sold off 4 pieces that were among my most cherished, they went to collectors that really appreciated them. Of the many I have left, this knife was a gift from my wife on my 50th birthday, 30 years ago, it'll be passed on to family.

I have a W.D. Pease knife on my Do Not Get Rid Of list as well. Really like the blade profile.

Likely wouldn’t sell anything I own because most of it falls under the budget category 🤣. For sentimental reasons, I have a SAK Tinker I got as a birthday present 30ish years ago and my grandfather’s Buck 112 that I wouldn’t sell for all the tea in Britain.

I’ve traded a few knives that I had duplicate to get others I wanted, but so far I’ve never sold one. Dozens have been gifted to friends and family. I’ll probably sell 50ish in the next year or so, maybe more depending on the experience.

There’s two blades that come to mind that will never leave. Buck 194-T ATS-34 Mirror polished that was gifted to me in 2015! I call him an adopted father (after my dad passed) who’s very special to my family. The blade actually started me in this awesome hobby.
Second is a ESEE 6 with TKC scales that my wife gave me for 25th anniversary. She went through major back surgery and dived into leather works during recovery. She made a custom sheath with kydex insert and outer pouch, her first unbelievably! She also made the belt clip sheath for the Alpha. Obviously both have sentimental value.
