Knives you've seriously considered buying, but never pulled the trigger on

May sound silly but a knife i like just because of the name. And yes its a good basic get R done folder too. The Ontario Rat. There i said it. Not expensive and plenty of CRKT and Spydero’s that fit the bill for the task but…..
The Ontario RAT is a fine knife and for the money , it’s a steal. I got my first one a few months ago and it has served me well.

A Chris Reeve folder, maybe a smaller Sebenza, but never could see spending for it, one of those grail pieces.

One that is more obtainable, finally got a knife in 5160 to try, a Buck 117 from C&C. I will probably use it more than some others in 5160 I have from some custom makers, reluctant to use them and hurt them. So for me it is about not being afraid to use.......and enjoy........the knives I already have. And if I am like many here, we have a lot in our collections. :D
The positive thing about spending for a CRK is that if you need to sell, you get most of your money back

A spyderco q-ball. I’ve been super picky with production knives the last number of years…but I keep coming back to the q-ball…

Randall #2 6" w/ black micarta handle, brass guard, black& brass spacers to go w/ a #1 I have in that configuration. A Lazarus auto that I foolishly let get away from me. Last but not least a Chris Reeves fixed blade 1 piece w/hollow handle& screw on butt cap.

ESEE 5. If they made it in S7 or in 8670, I would have bought it in a heart beat. But in 1095… not tough enough for me. Condor Discord machete, but this may change soon.

Lionsteel T6 in K490 which I actually ordered direct from Lionsteel, but due to the idiotic UK import rules I didn't get it and got a refund.

It's a very long list that would eat an entire forum page and take way too long to compile. One that has been on The List for a long time, but I've never gotten around to buying yet is the Opinel No. 13, which is the most practical folder ever made...

After 7 years of heming and hawing about whether I should give the sebenza another shot, I handled one at a knife show this summer, and it reinforced my initial dislike.

For a similar number of years, I did the same about trying the Southard again. I finally pulled the trigger, and am glad I did.

I currently have nothing on my list that I'm undecided about. Yesterday further postponed when I can buy my next knife. TV and stereo receiver went at the same time yesterday, and had to buy new ones.Ugh. I'd known the the TV was in issue, but had no idea about the receiver. However, listening to the new one, it was time. Both had been my late father's, and were over 10 years old.

Cross the Rat 1&2 off the list. Ordered one each at very low cost to the budget lol.
I’m afraid to mention any other knives based on the results of me listing the Ontario Rat lol.
Oh i see how the knife forum works now…..
Post and conversate about knives equals more knife sales! It’s diabolically genius at work!

As requested. The tan R2D2 is a lot smaller than i imagined. And i do love the stone washed AUS-8 blade on the Rat 1. All and all very satisfied.

It's always fun to see others' replies when I necro this thread. You'd almost think it's some kind of a common theme....

A lefty Ferrum Forge in house USA made and a lefty from Olamic. Ended up being too many choices for me to be dead set on one. Plus those are at a price that I wouldn’t feel comfortable using and carrying. Talked with both companies on several occasions. Just couldn’t talk myself in to it.
