Yeah, remember, she could have spent the money on another pair of shoes! Take the dang Blur!, and use it during fire prep a bit and then for food prep. Clean it off in front of her and put it safely in your pocket. Now she'll be thinking "He really does APPRECIATE the knife I gave him".
