didnt quite know where to put this so i thought the exchange was the best place to throw it up.

i was wondering if anyone here could tell me the turn around time for knives ship free dot com. i placed an order sunday and havent received any email or anything about my order. just an automated message that states that my order was received.

was just curious as my birthday is coming up and was hopping that the knife would get up here for the birthday weekend.

cheers.

JC

This is the right forum but especially since you are in Canada, I don't know how we can give you a time frame. I do know KSF is very responsive. If you email him with your question, he is in a better position to answer than we are.

From the website: Contact Us

just shoot me an email with your name and order number and we'll get it figured out.

just found your order....

The Bravo 2's are enroute from MI to us right now. Yours should be here tomorrow and will ship right out. We have HUGE boxes arriving here tomorrow!

thank you derrick, you're quick responses are very encouraging. i am so far pleased with the service received and upon the success of this transaction will most likely become a repeat customer :D

thanks for the responses.

btw sorry derrick i realized i made a typo on the city name for the shipping address, its "new westminster" not minister. lol

thanks again.

I have ordered from Derrick a few times and he has always impressed me with his service and fast shipping. I know people in Canada that have ordered from him with great success as well. Have no fear, your in good hands.

thanks for the good words dude, i'm just hoping that USPS gets it here by my birthday :P

Derrick is top notch! He is very fast and very reliable. One of the best businesses I've ever dealt with! By the way, have a happy birthday. If its a Bravo-2 you're getting, it will be a good one even if its late!

thanks for the bday wishes guys, the bravo 2 is what i ordered as my last camp knife was conveniently taken by my buddy who i lent it to and never returned. seems he developed an attachment to my R1 military.

i dont plan on lending out the bravo 2 when i get it though :D

I've had very good luck ordering from KSF, but always remember that once your knife hits the border, they offload it from the airplane and tape it to the back of a turtle. The turtle then navigates by map and compass towards where you live, and it is often caught and eaten by coyotes on the way. Fortunately, Canada Post has a deal with the coyotes, so they will usually drop your package off (with minimal chewing) at the nearest CDD (coyote deposit depot). Canada Post, as a government agency, is required to hire a certain percentage of "differently abled" people, and all of the people are "differently mentally abled" are employed at the CDD, so it might take some time for them to figure out how to read your address... but once they do, you can rest assured that they will find another turtle to tape it to who's already heading in that direction.

Enjoy your B2! :D

Ditto what’s been said about KnivesShipFree.

I’ve been dealing with Derrick and Wendy for several years and they are always fast to ship, usually the same day or the following morning.

The only fly in the ointment can be when ordering a knife that was just put up on the site (like the new bravo-2’s), because everybody’s clamoring to see what handle material Derrick is getting the photos are often posted when the knife are shipped from the distributor, so there is the possibility of a slight delay while the knife is in transit.

The beauty of dealing with KnivesShipFree or the other “stocking” dealers is that the dealers have (or are getting) the knives they list, some other internet sellers do not stock the knives and are at the mercy of the distributors to try to get the knife after you place the order.

This can lead to not getting the handle material you want.

Also, if there’s a model coming out soon that you want, you can pre-order with Derrick to get exactly what you want including special handle material, spacers or pins.

Hey jca, You live in New West, so you're about 1/2 hour-45 min. from the border. I live in Vancouver, and I never get anything ordered in the States shipped to me directly. I have an address in Bellingham I use, have it shipped there, it's much quicker, I don't have to worry about customs potentially holding it up, and it's a good excuse for a day trip. Whatever system is used for a delivery seems to treat the border like a glacier, it is unbelieveable how long it takes to cross an imaginary line.
So cheaper gas, cheaper shipping, quicker delivery. Works for me.
Hope this helps.
P.S. Sorry you live in New West :D:D
