Knock off ZT

Sending information over to Kershaw's legal dept -- thanks for finding this! It's sad that they must resort to straight-out copying ZT's knives - but you know what they say "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"
 
I found it a few days ago and today it clicked that I should say something since I wouldnt want to be the guy who buys this knife thinking it is a ZT.
 
Yep, seen those on other websites. Mostly the ones selling lots of cheap chinese knockoffs.
 
I have reported this seller to ebay before for sell fakes. I also reported them to Thomas back in Dec of 2010. They used to sell fake Bucks, but that must not have went well for them. :)

Right now he is also listing Striders, CRK, and CS fakes.
 
This Tactical knife hand made from 420hc stainless steel and it was hardened to 58hrc.
this is one of the sharpest steels around ....

boys that guy isn't breaking any rules, looks to be a 420hc knife in the same shape of a ZT which is all he is saying, you all sound like whiners, if he had said it was a ZT then I could understand your concern, the thing doesn't even say ZT.
nice looking blade for the price of the tz on the real ZT, many makers have made randall shaped knives, start with them if you wanna nit pick

Unfortunately, the guy above has a point. All the ad says is that it is a "ZT style" knife. I hope I'm wrong about it though, as I DO NOT agree with offering this "knife" for sale and someone does get fooled.:barf:
 
All i'm wondering is how he managed to do the 3d machined scales. those, if they could be modified, might be worth it by themselves.

Two posts and you are attacking members who don't like the gray and black marketeers.

And you must be a splendid expert who can see a knife is 420HC from a picture. Sorta like the ePrey seller who says 420HC is "sharp."

Are you kidding me??? Where the heck did you come from? I doubt it's from North America. Did you just now join up to defend your buddy who sells on ebay?

Sorry if I'm not being very easy on you, but we defend our homegrown makers around these parts. China can manufacture all the knives they want and I have no problem with that, but when they manufacture a substandard ripoff of a knife that American designers and workers have put their blood, sweat, and tears into, it's just not right. I have no desire to get into an argument or debate with you because I doubt you could ever understand my point of view, but I will say that anyone who thinks that it is okay for any company, Chinese or otherwise, to profit off of the work of another designer/manufacturer is seriously misguided.

Well, I can never help myself in these situations. Confronted the idiot seller about his blatant ripoff listing. Of course, he took the high road, telling me I'm ignorant and don't know anything about what he's doing.:rolleyes: I responded as courteously as I could, we'll see how it pans out. I hate counterfeit profiteers:thumbdn:
 
if an american wants to reflect anothers design it's all good, now an asian decides to do it and it's the end of the world, they should be flattered, shit lets all put on the white cloaks and rally round the burning cross, how do you know it isn't 420HC? are you saying 420HC isn't sharp? how long is a piece of string, because edge geometry trumps steel either way.
furthermor how do you know it's from china? now imagine the maker was white? oh it's all cool now right?
