Knock Off?

I happen to be a great fan of this company but I really feel that they have taken something from CRK. The blade, handle design are extremely similar and the name....well it's even a little too close.

Am I off target here.....???

Knock Off???

.

A Sebenza is a Sebenza. There are several ~$200 knives out there that proposed to be less expensive alternatives, but that's it. Benchmade's had other forays into the framelock world with the Skirmish, Pinnacle, and Bradley Alias line, so I think this is just another model added to the mix. I like it tho, as I'm a part time BM fan as well as a CR nut. This just got added to my radar screen so thanks.

No, it's not a Sebenza rip off. Sebenza inspired, maybe.

What's a rip off is taking Chris' RIL lock and renaming it the Monolock, as if BM came up with it themselves, or something. Not to mention the raping of Spyderco's trademark hole.

They aren't as bad as Gerber, but little things like that annoy me enough to stay away from their products and never mention them when recommending knives to others.

That time they went about it correctly, with the Skirmish, pikas, vex, etc. Its a much different, and saddere story. Try searching it, if you care. Its extremely shady.

This is the first knife that I think of as being a Sebenza "inspired" knock off.

Is that some kind of joke? I don't get it.

Sorry, no joke to me. Of course, the knives aren't made of the same material and no, it's not dead on, but when I see the Rat 1, I think of a Sebenza. No offense intented.

They don't look anything like each other :thumbdn::jerkit:

 LOL, there is not one similarity I can find. That's honestly one of the most inane things I've ever read here, and that's a strong statement on my part.

Thing is there isn't much variation in design (assuming we are considering non-tactical EDC type) so one of these days it's very possible that two folders by different companies look very alike but are not copies.

Little harsh for someone who just sees one knife in another. A simple, "I don't see it", would have done. :D
