Knocking the Shine Off - One Month At A Time

Please forgive. The flesh is weak but the steel is strong. I just cannot get behind the medium stockman. But the 47... My love grows for her and now she's in carbon steel instead of stainless.

It took far too much effort To get the burr edge clean on the medium. I don't know if the belt ate that one too hard maybe. But all the 47 needed was the strop. She's now nicely sharp and ready to finish the challenge. I cannot get over for the minimal size increase you get so much more blade. Outstanding.

I understand about the burr on the 3318, I just picked one up and all three blades had heavy burrs that took some effort to remove. Still not quite how I like, but they'll do for now. I'll get them to my desired sharpness in time.

I vastly prefer the 18 to the 47 frame though. I have a 2-blade 47, and though nice, it annoys me to no end due to its drooped main blade. As a result it lives in my glove compartment as a back up. It's too good a knife to ignore completely, but too annoying to use on a regular basis.
