Well, Bill, I wish i could tell you. I sent Daniel Prentice $207 (the $7 was for shipping or whatever) almost a month ago:

Dear Kevin Harris,

Your payment for $207.00 USD to dpknifemaker@aol.com has been sent.

I have written him several very polite courteous emails ( i like to ammsume the best -- life is really hard and can affect our ablility to take care of business, but i havent received any response at all in 10-12 days ( I can look uo the dato of my last malail to him if anyone wants to see. I noticed that in one of his other knife sales to a different customer the knife was apparently lost in the mail. Now, i'm not saying that didn't happen, but my father worked for the post office for ten years, and i asked him about how often something would get lost in the mail, and he thought about it for a minute and said, "out of say a million pieces of mail, maybe one or two,"... So if this turns out to be the second one from the same person in a few months, those are some pretty astronomical odds. Besides, and i'm not trying to tell anyone what to do, but i always put some kind of delivery confirmation on it or insure it or something so i can track it on line.... It's such a beautiful knife in the pictures it seemed like a steal for $200... hell, maybe it was.

Wow, bummer. I hope you get your knife in good condition.

Daniel Prentice is a personal friend of mine and a hell of a knife maker. I just got him on the phone and let him know about this thread. He has been working crazy hours and was almost deployed. ( the powers to be decided not to deploy him at this time). That is not an excuse, just a fact.

I am not posting for him, but he was away from a computer. He wanted me to let folks know that he is looking now for the tracking info and going to find this knife. If it can't be found, he will make good to the buyer's satisfaction. He will reply when he gets to technology....

Kevin- I purchased one of Daniel's knives about the same time this one was listed. There was a bit of a delay and I called Daniel and we straightened everything out. He's an R.N. in the Army and had been slammed at work. His number is on his website. You should call him and see what's up. I know the delay sucks but I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation. I would think that a member of the U.S. Army would not blemish his rep. In any way over something like this. Anyways call him and see what happens. Btw, the knife I received is absolutely gorgeous! Even my hard-assed old man was impressed. Good luck!
