Lets start a signup list for the KPH. This one is going to run a little different than previous signup lists. First, you tell me the handle material, and I'll quote you my cost as an upsell if necessary. You can get the knife with or without bolsters, which I intend to charge $50 to do. So the thread is a signup thread, and order tracker, but you can accessorize this model how you please.

The base price for the knife is going to be $150 (2010 base price is $180). That will include the bullseye tube and corby bolt on a bolsterless handle. I'm going to offer sheaths for this knife as a $50 upgrade, and Bolsters (WI) will run another $50. The handle material you choose, I will buy, and charge you my cost.

The knife is 8" OAL, and 3.75" is blade. They are ground from 5/32" thick 01 steel.

Hope you love these!!!

11. ZhangMaster - Bocote, no bolsters, No Swedge, No sheath
12. WannaBullet - Nat over Black canvas micarta, no bolster, no sheath
13. Lucasmilaly - Stabalized walnut, bolsters.
14. Mpisi - KPH, with bolster, with the most striking wood handle you can do when you get to mine (e.g. like that black ash burl on the KSF Nessie). Corby bolt, probably plain black liner and bullseye tube, whatever is complementary to the wood. No sheath.

I'll get you specs Ira. I'm out the door now. Just wanted you to know I'm not ignoring you!

Thanks Rotte. The Kismet Practical Hunter is: 8" OAL, and 3.75 is blade. I grind them from 5/32" thick steel. I'll add that to the original post also.

What's the ETA? I'm missing a ton of work due to health issues, but I'd be in for one with ironwood handles w/red liners, bolster, and a sheath if it looks like it'll be a couple months. I'd prefer to be slot #8 if possible.

Another request for ETA. Owing on a couple fronted knives and Christmas season coming has me limited on funds, but I really, really, really want one of these with burlap phenolics.

Yeah, me too(ETA?).... I really really want on this, but with the holidays approaching, I need to be carefull....

If you guys want to wait until after the holiday season, I'm good with that.

Whatever works out for everyone is fine with me.

....as long as we actually do a run. These are too cool to pass by and will make great hunting blades.

Andy, I'll definitely want bolsters on mine. Please.

Yeah, bolsters and black micarta w/o liners on mine. What a sweet knife, I really love this design.

Wow! Tedwca is "right on" for me, as well.

I was just thinking about this and decided this is what I wanted to go with. A little poking around, I find the order thread, and POW -- there is Ted's excellent post.

I've already got my cash assembled!!:)

The burlap phenolic was my second choice. I just got one of Andy's bushcrafters with that handle material ... and it is excellent. You can mistreat it all you want and it returns to its original state with a little swabbing. Just great stuff.

Also -- Andy might want to consider a slightly larger version of this knife. Not sure if it would break the whole mystique of the practical hunter ... I just think there would be an lucrative audience of folks for a KPH+ with, say, a 5" blade. Just a thought.

Andy,

Have you done one without bolsters for us to check out?

I've only done two. But there will be micarta ones coming. Derrick at KSF ordered 4. Two badass, and two discount.

ETA is going to be after the holidays guys. I'll likely not start this run till January.

Andy, can I change my Woodman order to one of these? If I can, I'll get back to you to scales. Thanks.

Cancelled Woodsman order. No problemo. Got you down for one of these.

Should I add you to the list. I will anyway. Let me know if you need to be removed.
