Kudos to Gerber

I have a Gerber Prodigy knife that the retaining strap on the sheath was starting to tear in half. I sent an e-mail to Gerber and they sent me a new sheath out without requiring any proof of the damage or anything else.

Good for you. My most recent purchase was a Gerber Metulious fixed blade. I really like it. Within about 15 minutes, i had it scary sharp. IDK what the blade is made from but it seems the same as my Freeman folder. It is a great knife for smaller jobs & would go great with one of my HD Beckers or Ontario's. The sheath sucks big time though. A custom one is in order for sure.

I have a Metolius also. The only problem I had was with the sheath. It splayed open real big at the top where the knife goes in. I took a large rubber band and wrapped it around the opening and have left it tied up(sort of like a baseball mitt) and the sheath has closed up very well.

how Do you like your Prodigy? I m thinkin' 'bout gettin' one but I wanted to ask someone who has one how they like it first, but its hard to find anyone who likes gerber 'round her'.
