Kumar's Coming Back; Murali's Back too

Me too! I have nothing of his from the 2 years I have been here. I have the ones you mention, plus have had Shankar (1), the ! Kami, and Dharan. The Y.B. Kami is Sher I am sure. I also have one bilton from Patan Newari, but think that might be a location rather than a Kami.

I think "YB" is Yadep (Yadep Badahur).

Murali used a trishul until 2/02, then a Nepalese flag (one pennant over another). I suppose he could be "MB" (Murali Biswakarma) in the current style.

As for leaving, life may get in the way. Dad may want you/need you to run the family business/farm. Or your ego may not stand being second in the pecking order to the Best Kami in Nepal.

The Kamis with no name went back to their farm. Kesar works for someonelse. Sanu ran away to India. I'll post a complete list when the dust settles. I expect a new Kami as well.

HOW IS THE COLD? BITING YOU IN THE BUTTTT I BET!

BRRRRRRRR!

More firewood please!

Keep the light on.

Ibear-It's been around 50 the last few days- hiking weather. Right after Xmas it thawed, warmed for several days, then snowed again. That has melted. The winters have frequent breaks in them. I like it.

Norm if I'm not mistaken Patan Newari is a Newari carver that just happened to make a khukuri at BirGhorka.
The Newari are generally all experts in carving and again if I'm not mistaken the fellows who do the silver and gold smithing for the Kothimora Khukuris.
The Newari often make elaborate engraved tourist model khukuris that are only fit for wall hangers.
But they are entirely capable of making a decent khukuri and that's what I believe you have.
It's a rarity so hang onto it. ;) :D

If you want to know what happened to Durba and why he isn't coming back you will need to visit....

Although I am an unbeliver, Kumar's health affected me deeply enough that I mentioned it to my wife who now claims her (and your) prayers were responsible. I am burning incense for his and all the kamis continued good health.

Amen to that. Good news to hear.

Could very well be Thomas, and I thought the same until I started noticing that all the kami marks on the Y.B. blades and Sher blades were the same. (?) At first I figured that was because maybe Sher was having him do some of the work, but now I'm just confused about it.

I'll have to recheck. I have a Y.B. Jure and a Sher Jure, and both have the same marks in the same manner, with only the initials being different...

Thanks,

Norm

Thanks for the good info Yvsa. I wasn't sure what the name meant, and at first assumed it was from a shop at Newari. I appreciate the clarification and info on Durba as well. (At least until I read it! Damned aliens! Guess that explains the solid 1-piece titanium Khukuri I saw over at Area 51 the other day... (-:)

That'll cause some changes in the lists. I have Sher with a sull sun or half sun with rays. Didn't know he used the "!" like Yadep OR that Yadep used sun/half sun OR that bith used some third mark(s).
