If I'm just cold bluing it I'm assuming that's a blade removal

Does the oxide layer appreciably increase the thickness of the pivot area to the point of creating a problem with functioning after reassembly

^^^^^^ absolutely not. It's not "thick" at all. The Paras aren't that tight on tolerances anyway.

Supposedly, the chemicals in the gun blue are toxic. I don't know as I've never used a knife with gun blue, but I have used a knife on food that's been patina'd by food....

My holes for right hand tip up carry are not drilled. Thats annoying because I, like many others like it that way. I don't know what to do, because everything else is perfect. I'm afraid if I send it back to kw for a trade I'll get one that's not as nice as this one. Would y'all send it to Spyderco to be drilled or trade it back in to kw?

^^^ they might not have been cleaned out and may be drilled I would take the back of a small drill bit and just try to push the wholes through from the lefty side

Awhile back I received a Para2 with this issue was able to do exactly what you described

Tried to heat with a hair dryer, but still can't shift the last screw and coming dangerously close to stripping it. Might have to send it in or back to Spyderco, cos I don't like tip down.

Having trouble with the clip screws too. Did you end up getting the last one out?

Got mine. Very nice example. Box was crunched on one corner, which doesn't rally matter to me. I'm really enjoying the S110V version, so for now this one will live in the safe. Probably going to end up being my main user at some point.
