KW CF/M4 Para2 Exclusive

A cleaned (or even cursorily rinsed off) then dried knife is nowhere near as susceptible to corrosion as some tend to think. It'll develop let's say, "character", over time, but properly taken care of will remain corrosion free.
This goes ten fold for the non stainless tool steels.

"We are currently setting up a (no deposit)
email interest page on our web site for these Exclusives.
Sign up for the knife with your email address
then get notified when its time to Pre-order!"

I sooo hope I can get the M4 Para 2. I am tumescent thinking about it.
Couldn't find the email interest page on their site yet, I will check again in, ooh, bout 5 minutes.

Where did you find that announcement about the email interest page? Is it up yet?

Glad I stumbled upon this thread... Been hoping for a new sprint Para 2 for a while.

Mine came a couple of days ago in an email from Knifeworks, but I don't think the notification page is set up yet. At least, I can't find it.

Email notification request instruction are up on the web site, under Exclusives. looks like this one will be a bit pricer at $240. worth it tho!

That's a little more than I'd hoped, but I'll still get one nonetheless. A definite must have in my book.

Agreed.

Hoping they don't start going the way of the Bento knowing how desirable a particular model will be.

Updating this thread. This was part of a email that KW's sent out about a week ago:

*****************************************************************************************
As far as the other Spyderco KW Exclusives the last update we have heard on the Spyderco Ti Military, Carbon Fiber with R.I.L. Lock and & S90V Steel, is expected first quarter of 2017. The Spyderco Para Military 2, Carbon Fiber, M4 Steel is expected September 2016. Again, these are just updates from Spyderco, these dates could be sooner or later than expected depending on production. As we get updates, we will post the website.

Guys how does Spyderco's M4 compare the their S110V in things like edge retention, toughness and sharpenability (is that a word)?

Sorry off topic.

How did you get on the mailing list? I applied on their site to be notified of updates but, nothing.

Keep in mind I'm no metallurgist or steel expert. I'm just going from my experience with a M4 Manix 2 and a S110V Manix 2. S110V has better edge retention and WAYY better corrosion resistance than M4.

My M4 Manix 2 will start to show signs of corrosion if I just look at it wrong:)

M4 seems to have better toughness and it is IMO easier to sharpen than S110V. Not a lot but some.

Even though S110V has better edge retention, M4 aint no slouch in that department.

That wasn't an email specific to that particular knife...in fact, it was in the notification for the CTS-204P Military. If you signed up to be notified when the PM2 is available, you get an email when time comes.

so this is the next PM2 people will be after. In the BHQ Jade M4 PM2 thread, many people said they'd be waiting on this model.. but it seems as though the thread for that one is/was way more active, even before an exact date came out.

KW's website says these should be out in August, and still don't feel the excitement here. Is it the elevated price point, the fact that people actually prefer the jade, that people don't care about scales and just want the M4, or the uncertainty if this model is full CF or laminate??

For me, it's a bit of everything above. All $$ being equal, I prefer the jade and g-10, I got 2 of them, so I'll be out on this for the price point. Your thoughts?

I have interest, but similar to your thoughts, I've already secured one from BHQ, so I'll be happy just to finally have M4 in the Paramilitary 2. That undyed G10 seems to be love or hate, but I like it.

I am personally a little burnt out on carbon fiber on knives, especially if it comes at a higher cost for minimal benefit and non structural...

I'm positive this excitement will ramp up and get out of control in just a few weeks!

This one will sell out faster than the natural g-10/m4 pm2. It will go down as one of the hottest and most sought after PM2s next to the carbon fiber sprints that have come before it(s90v & cpm154/s90v). In the secondary market, I wouldn't be surprised to see them going for 2-2.5x their retail price
