KW Green G10/204P Millie Exclusive

According to Sal, it's stepped, so it's in there permanently as long as the scales are held together.

Is that a Millie 2? Don't think I'm a fan of the pinned stop pin.

I'm guessing that it's not pressed in? Floating? Allowing for disassembly and simpler pivot adjustment?
If that's the case I'm a fan.

What is the deal with the pinned stop pin? Why would they do that? Or, is it a photoshop error?

Why do people not like a floating stop pin versus a screwed in pin? Eliminates having to tune the action from both the pivot and the stop pin (like on the PM2) and a pin will never get loose unlike a screwed pin that has the blade smack into it every time it's opened and will slowly loosen.

I checked with KnifeWorks regarding the KW-exclusive Spyderco Military with CTS-204P Steel and Green G-10.

They'll start shipping them tomorrow, May 17, 2016. The first batch has 450 pieces of a total 1,200 run.

Agreed. The less parts the better (although they technically added parts for standoffs).

Also wondering if these CQI updates will be on the 52100 Military Sprint, as well?

The stop pin might be a deal breaker for me. I'd rather it be screwed in, so I can disassemble the knife if needed.

Nobody said it was pressed in. More than likely it is just sandwiched in there and "floating" on the stepped part of the machined barrel and held centered by the smaller dia. "pin" that goes through the scale.

Yeah, I called KW today and got pretty much the same info. One interesting thing the nice lady at KW's said was that they don't really have a lot of preorders for this one yet and they still have a quite a few of the initial 450 left over. I don't think its to bad but maybe it has something to do with the price? The CF/S90V Yojimbo took awhile to sell out and there were one or two price reductions before it finally did.

How does it work with the Collector Club knives? Do those count toward the total made? I.E. Spyderco makes 1200 of the 204p Millies and 200 or so go out to Collector Club members/dealers and the rest go to KW's. In that case KW's gets in around a 1000 or so?

kw exclusive bm 710 m390 was priced the same in the beginning, correct? It is quite similar to this version of spyderco military in terms of materials used and the reputation of the knives. However, since the plain jane military with s30v sells for $160-170, I doubt the price of the green g10 / cts 204p will drop to $180 like the kw exclusive 710.

Has everything to do with price. If they were $150, good luck getting one.

True, but then that would put the price of this one around the same prices shown on the regular production S30V models after MAP pricing.

MSRP on this one is $269.95. MAP pricing would be $161.97.

The Military has never been a really popular knife, at least compared to the Para 2 or similar knives - maybe it's the price, maybe the size. maybe something else - so I don't think the low demand is surprising.

IIRC, CC knives do count toward the total.

The Military may not be as popular overall as a PM2, but I'd guess those that like the Military are fairly diehard collectors. I know it's not my overall favorite Spyderco model, but I still buy every one that comes out.
