I like the subtle changes. Solid stop pin, not threaded for screws. Also notice that the clip is rounded where it goes into the pocket. Nice. Well done Spyderco......as usual. ;)
 
Yup, logical changes, while keeping the Military a Military. Sure it's difficult improving on a knife that has such a following as is without upsetting the apple cart.

This will be my first Military too. The tip down only carry has kept me away until now but I decided it's time to try one out. I'm really liking the handle color and curious to see what this steel is about too.
 
Got mine from Knifeworks today. In a word- Brilliant!
The G10 is a bit grippier than my Black s30v. Grind is really even and thin- .022 behind the edge and very sharp. Best Mille edge I've received yet. Standoffs and stop pin are nicely done. Perfectly centered and really smooth. Perfect Mille. All three that I received were very consistent. Very good quality control. Think this will be in my pocket a lot!

Oh yeah- the blade is 4 and 3/16" scale to tip and 3 and 7/8" cutting edge so a bit longer than most older Mille's. Also weighed it: 120 grams or 4.23oz or about 4 grams lighter than my black s30v satin version.

Very happy with all of the new changes!!!

I also received a perfect incarnation of this model; and like you, noticed the extra blade length and felt that the G10 had a bit more traction. The improvement I appreciate most, however, is the change to the pivot. The new version is noticeably smoother than the last, and tightening the pivot to eliminate blade-play no longer negatively affects the action of the blade. This is now my favorite Military, just as the 204P PM2 is my favorite PM2. Awesome steel, awesome color.

This one is very interesting. Just got a Ti Mil this afternoon but I may have to take KW up on their sale offer. Or I could wait for the M4 BHQ exclusive...decisions decisions.
 
Must resist... must hold out for BHQ jade scales version.... must resist....... resistance is futile... :grumpy:
