Can you make this with just a flat-sewn loop instead of the tek-lok?

Will had suggested a sewn loop for this in another thread and I'm going to give that a try. Don't see why it wouldn't work really well. May put one together for one of my own as a prototype in a day or so. I'll post some photos when done.
