Kyui Su Kim - Is A Nice Guy - Misunderstaning

So I should put full faith in someone who has little to no interaction on the forum that I was contacted from? Or the fact that you contacted me from a secondary email account? If I don't want to use Paypal, that is my business. I have explained three times now to you why I can't/won't use it, but you still play as if it is some mystery.

By the way, we had been speaking about details of a sale for 2 days, not a week. Nothing was solidified and no addresses were even exchanged

I emailed you when it was first posted and it sat. I was willing to take a certain amount of risk and send you money order. I was asking for same regard, which you weren't comprehending.

And that's the story!

We have seen many problems caused by going through with a deal when there was no confidence in the other person. If it don't feel right, don't do it.

There is no reason for anyone to feel insulted by this. It is a business decision, and there is always another knife to spend money on.

+1 This right here

I actually completed a very successful transaction, with Kyui Su Kim. Everything worked out wonderfully; he was a very honest person to deal with, & I highly recommend him!

Reserve the right to sell to whoever you want. I'm fine with that.
Why not be up front about it?

OP- You've had just 10 posts, since 2012, prior to starting this thread in the GBU...it is obvious to all, that Kyui Su Kim, made the right call!

By the way: I take great exception, to the fact that you feel you can come on here in start throwing stones, & offending other member's here. I'll have you know, that I grew up in a family, where we all wore tin hats; my father wore a tin hat, my sister wore a tin hat, & wore one, until the 10th grade.

Why did you change your title from: Kyui Su Kim wears a tin hat...to what it is now?

I have beat this dead horse pretty good, but one last time:

You are member with 3 feedbacks as a buyer

You had 6 posts at the point of our conversation

You contacted me from a secondary email

Asked me to ship to a US address that is not your home address

There is very little here that inspires confidence to deal. I am not trying to knock new members, but why on earth would I take the risk of sending a $150 knife to someone in another country, through a secondary address, that does not participate in the forum that I am selling through before I have received payment?

I chose not to go through with this deal. You were out a little bit of digital time and some keystrokes, I am confused as to why you are taking this to such great lengths?

Because I wasn't sure if really did wear a tinfoil hat?

Tinfoil NOT Tin, which would be quite uncomfortable, but you keep yours on - you look good!

- All I ask he ship on same day as me and provide tracking? Same regard I'm giving him. What's offside with that. I give him my contact info to send proof of money order.
- Won't use PayPal (for whatever reason(s)) should've been my red flag, but I figure "ok he's got decent feedback."

So I just send him money order and hope he honours deal....?

Waste of time and jerking me around.
A) try buying something through the mail from a retailer like Sears, Cabela's, etc., and expect them to ship on the same day you mail your payment. They'll laugh at you. Payment must be received first, then goods go out. Don't like it? Tough.

B) PayPal is so buyer-biased that lots of folks don't trust PP to protect them from being scammed by a buyer when selling something. My #1 option for receiving payment is a money order, not PayPal. I'll take PayPal if that is the only method the buyer wants to use and I need to move something quickly. If I have time, I'll wait for someone who will pay with a USPS Money Order.

C) Don't just get any old money order from Wal-mart or elsewhere. They are worthless. Get a USPS Money Order. Using a USPS Money Order means the seller must send the goods or else they can be tried for mail fraud - a federal felony that strips their right to vote and 2A rights, if they own guns. As a buyer, I prefer to send a USPS money order. I happen to know the postmaster in my hometown, and he doesn't take mail fraud lightly.

After seeing this thread, I wouldn't sell an empty envelope to you. Kyui Su Kim, otoh, is someone I would deal with.

I like knives and a few other pocket gadgets - I don't participate in forums - even though I read many, simply because I have not so much to say. If I had something to say, I would; like now.

I passed on another BM425 b/c I thought I was getting that one. So ya, you effed me, now I can't find another. So you and your tinfoil hat buddy can be happy.

.....and if a members posts is indicative of his feedback then there's something wrong with BF?

I thought by making a deal, honouring that deal thru to the end got you good feedback, but apparently I need to post what I had for breakfast, lunch and dinner to get my points up.

No one "effed" you. You are out no money whatsoever. You just don't have the knife you want. Deal with it.

Post count doesn't always mean participating. I have been on this forum for almost 15 years and still only have just bit over 2000 posts. You have been absent almost your entire time, other than to come try and slander my name.

As for the other BM425, I believe the expression is "Don't count your chickens before they hatch"

We never exchanged addresses or finalized terms. There was no deal and unfortunately, the loss is on you and no one else.

It's so nice to see, that you've decided to come out or your 3 year hibernation & begin socializing with the general public again. Just an observation: but I have a very strong feeling, that you will be going through a very difficult adjustment process, & there will be many more situations, of social awkwardness to come...

Best of luck!

Back on point, Kyui Su Kim, is GTG!

True - I'm out the knife I've been hunting down for awhile and true I have not much to say and only recently started buying on BF as my collection grew.

I've bought and sold using PayPal and the fees (as minimal as they are) suck. I couldn't provide you any more assurance that I was willing to pay via money order than I did.

And yes, I have 2 emails, but I also gave you my personal details as well, and was looking forward to getting yours to firm up the deal.

And stating you wore a Tinfoil Hat wasn't slandering your name and you posted our email convo not me casting first stone when I was trying to assure you that my word was good and we don't know each other and you could've sent me nothing or the knife, we'll never know now.

If you do really wear a tinfoil hat you've got company.

In my time spent in this hobby and others (guns/etc), I've never seen a mail fraud conviction result from someone scamming a couple buyers out of money orders. And there are plenty of MO sales that have gone bad. Scammer gets banned and never heard of again.

If someone does get busted, it's usually a huge scammer who's burnt dozens of people out of $thousands - and it's local LE doing the bust after getting a mountain of fraud/theft complaints, not feds.

Most of these crooks already have convictions, and you know plenty of prohibited people have ways of obtaining firearms without going through a FFL. I highly doubt they care about voting either.

Hooray, finally a seller who just has this "gut feeling" something is amiss and he should not sell.

And guess what he does? he does not sell it.

Now he has no worries and can move on to a Buyer he feels more comfortable with. Thats a savvy seller!!

OP, when you find yourself deeper and deeper in a hole, stop digging.

A sale is made (in all fifty states) only when the seller agrees to sell. Until then, you have nothing to complain about. You were only making an offer to buy. The seller is free not to agree to a sale.

Quite true. :thumbup::thumbup:

That being said, the OP has changed the thread name to something more agreeable regarding the seller . If the DVN00 is willing to let sleeping dogs lie, perhaps we should cut him some slack.

(No offense intended to any member)
