This might be of some interest nevertheless : the "Colonial knife" of the French Army, given from the 1st WW to the "Tirailleurs Sénégalais" - African Infantry and then more generally to the Army of Africa (la Coloniale).
It derivates from a Marine knife and was used until not so long.

I will add that sheep/lambsfoot bladed knives made in France are often referred to as "London" and rather located in (small) Britain . I really wonder why? LOL
