Lance Armstrong Dirty?

No.

Scandal is manufactured & sells papers.

Dogs always get attention by yapping.

Look at Michael Moore and "Cindy the Peace Mom"

not agreeing or disagreeing with those two- just using them as an example that if you make a stink, people will smell it.

So I am suggesting that the French reporter smells.

Anyone with me? GO LANCE! USA! USA!

Yeah, you are right... it stinks! Michael Moore and "Cindy the Peace Mom"..... not agreeing or disagreeing with those two.

I agree with their right to say anything that is true OR to say anything that is their opinion! This right is important in this great country and because of this wonderful right we celebrate the right to free speech, based on the First Amendment!

Our dislike and dis-approval should not be directed at the yapping dogs... but, rather at the prejudiced, disrespectful, unbalanced, biased reporting that is so prevelant in our media today! Well, anyway.... that is just my unbiased opinion! HeeeHa!

Absolutely!

I think that there was some stuff banned 6+ years ago, but they didn't have a test for it at the time. I think they're claiming that, now that they have a test, they're testing old samples, and, shazam, there it is.

Let me see here.

A banned substance that they didn't have a test for but do now. OK.

Current tests do not show hot for this substance. Assumed.

Let's test this old sample. Ooooooow..... 6 year old urine.

Is this even Lance's sample? Dunno.

Something's rotten in Denmark.

I don't hate the French. I disagree with most of their politicians and the attitudes a lot of them have toward the world in general. But, from my recollections of serving over in Europe, your average French person is a regular Joe like you or me, and they don't hate us either, at least they didn't back then. Truth be told, those of them that love the sport, sans the politics, would probably tell you Lance is a great champion, deserved to win, and they are huge fans. Truth carried even farther along it's logical path, I doubt those French folk who have a problem with Lance would have any less problem with a guy from England, Poland, Japan, etc., who came into their country and cleaned their clocks seven times in a row. Strikes me they're just being regular old prideful humans.

Sarge

I think it's still like that. I have a buddy who just got back from a month in France and he said everyone was extremely friendly and that it was a really great country with a really high quality of life, and great food

There was a Spanish racer called Miguel Indurain that won the Tour de France five consecutive times from 1991 to 1995. As soon as he retired, the same french newspaper made the same alegations about him as they are doing about Armstrong. I wasn't even surprised when the news pop up.

Five-time Tour de France winner Miguel Indurain says the accusations against Armstrong are part of a campaign to discredit the American.

The Spaniard, who won the Tour five straight times between 1991-1995, also questioned the legality of claims against Armstrong.

"They have been out to get him in France for a number of years," Indurain told the website todociclismo.com.

"He's the one who knows about it, but it seems wrong that they are starting to dig over tests from years ago."

Five-time Tour de France winner Eddy Merckx says he is taking Lance Armstrong's side in the row over doping claims made by L'Equipe.

The French newspaper alleges that signs of the blood-boosting drug EPO have been detected in samples of Armstrong's urine from the 1999 race.

Merckx told Le Monde newspaper: "Armstrong always told me that he never used doping products.

"Choosing between a journalist and Lance's word, I trust Armstrong."

France; a place where blood stores tainted by the HIV virus were knowingly distributed by the French Govt rather than take the financial hit of destroying the stock. The nation that recieved kickbacks from the food for oil program in Iraq and argued againt military action. The nation that sold and or traded illegal munitions to Iraq before the invasion in violation of existing UN sanctions. Dates of manufacture on these items were after ban.

What else? The Nation that will do nothing as Iran gets the bomb. The Nation that thinks it's energies are best utilized for opposing whatever intervention the leading geopolitical power is doing, despite facts of historical support to France of that same power. A nation having no business being on the security council yet still is. Am I wrong- is France not even participating in the Afgan liberation?

How it got this bad who knows? I know relations between England and France aren't great either.

The french deserve their fate same as California deserves Feinstein and NY gets Hillary. Like calls to Like.

munk

But still, I try not to dislike the average Frenchmen.

Munk, your analogy to CA & Feinstein and NY & Clinton are pretty accurate: it isn't France, it's France under Chirac. It is an entrenched political elite that manipulates its urban proletariat for votes. Whether or not it works in their interests, they never seem to know ...

France has always been our ally. If the alliance has seemed strained, under Chirac, under his hero De Gaulle, it has always come back, and not just when they need us.

Outside of Paris, very few Americans have met deliberately unfriendly French. :D

Right now, their troops have better things to do than watch our backs, but their counterterror intelligence has been excellent, and they do share it with us. They are leading the way in Europe in controlling or expelling terrorist apologists.

Besides, I like their knives!

Opinel? (sic)

I think you are much too kind. France wouldn't let us fly over their airspace in the First Gulf war, would they??!!! A people find the representation they need. Chirac is France. I feel about him the same way I feel about the Democrats in the Legislature in California. Socialist, elite, feel good idiots, Willie Brown's protecting the new status quo.

My generation grew up and became Clinton.
France is Chirac.
You know, ten years ago when I moved to the Rocky Mountain West, I observed you coudn't find good Mexican food. You had Taco Johns, which is like having American Cheese on a tortilla with canned meat sauce. If people living in the West didn't know any better...it was; "The Taco The West Deserved." In the same vein, these new age quasi-socialist nations, the 'old Europe', and Blue State American's, deserve the Shumurs, Hillary's, Boxer's and Lautenberg's.

I like Britain and Germany's politics better, but note neither is kind to the ownership of weapons, and are going to become a problem in the UN some day on that issue. Canada is North America Continent France.

Yeah... no good tacos anymore... I'll invite ya over for dinner... how's that for an offer ya can't refuse? HeeeeHe!

Sorry, Tom; I agree. One let's off some steam, but 'bashing' just becomes pointless, especially as there are great people everywhere, even in Ibear's city. (I know- I met him there.)

I am willing to drive quite a ways for a good taco. My goals are small.
Ibear, I'll be in So Ca this Spring.

No trouble. All of us blow off steam sometimes, and if you can't do it in the presence of your friends ....

That was a quite a few years ago. I rode my 650 BSA all over that area in 1967-68 and thoroughly enjoyed the many miles of orange groves. In the hot summer months it was a very nice ride. We were much closer than we ever guessed, back then.
Thanks,

I'm talking ten speed. You guys with motors on your bicycles are decadent running dogs.

munk

woof.

who get 40+ miles to the gallon.

(Which, by the way, is up to $5.89 in Atlanta, according to a friend of mine.)
