The completion of something special!

I suggested trying something different for this LC and Bret got to do a few things he’s never done before on a folder. I think it’s a grand slam! (I’ll be updating the Bret Dowell knives thread with WIP pics and more description later).

The jimping matches up perfectly to the spring but it looks slightly lower in the pic because of the angle, and the fact that the spine is rounded over. The scales are Royal Walnut from a block that I’ve had for a few years.

Really nice, Jake! I like the jimping. I wish it were more common on slip joints. Super looking Walnut too!

This Jason Good that I previously posted is unusual, at least to me, in that it's a cross between a shadow or a conventionally metal lined slipjoint. It has g10 liners which along with the micarta covers makes it weigh less than other standard LC's. Now, like a lot of my theories it could be hot air. But that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

joeradza joeradza , I posted a linerless LC made by Pena a couple of pages back and yes, they definitely are lighter than a knife having standard metal liners. Take away the bolsters and it’s even more so.
