Lanyard hole for 2013

The Congress Jack came in second for the 2012 Forum Knife. I think/hope it will come in first in any poll posted for the 2013 Blade Forum Knife. My blade choice would be - sheepsfoot blade (master blade); pen blade (second blade).

I certainly hope so. But the sheepsfoot shouldn't be too blunt and most importantly a wrap-around spring. If the discussions are starting already it's going to be interesting :)

A Congress Jack with the blades opening from the same end is what we need - preferably with no wharncliffe blade. Make the main blade a sheepsfoot blade with a small pen blade or small coping blade.

I could go along with a congress Jack. How about a tapered (sleeveboard?) Congress Jack?
Blades at the big end??!!

This is what I'm talking about Charlie - this frame and blade placement but with a sheepsfoot blade in place of the wharncliffe blade and of course no engraving on the blades. Heck, even the wharncliffe blade looks pretty good and wouldn't be half bad.

Why stop at 440c? ATS34 has been great, and can be had pretty cheap.

The exact alloy available depends on the company. It would be very expensive to require an alloy that a company does not normally use.

Queen is the only company which makes traditionals in ATS-34. If we require ATS-34, we pretty much would have to go to Queen for the knife.

GEC uses 440C. And that would be good enough for me.

Carbides, that's the ticket.
"Come to the dark side, Luke. We have Carbides. Carbides, Luke. Carbides. Bwahaha."

I love that combo:thumbup:

I would prefer to see a sheepfoot, if we go with a Congress. Much more traditional, IMO!!
I don't think a lanyard hole would fit. We could add a bail . . . . . .so Ash doesn't lose her knife??;)

Actually there really is something to be said for a tethered knife!

Another point for GEC (aside from their steel, latest forum knives, and so on) is the fact that they already have a viable frame, and sized blades. I guess Ed agrees with me that this sheepsfoot would work great (with the pen on the same end and nick on the same side):

Agree on 440C Frank.
As for burnt stag, I'm not a fan of stag myself
But everything else in the picture I posted (bolsters, shield, blade shapes) looks great to me :)

I very much like the pictured (pearl) CJ, and think white scales would be very different from what's been done so far. If we go for a sheepsfoot I prefer that to be the smaller of the two blades with a slim spearpoint main. That would look good on a tapered frame as well.

A Bail, 440C, Ivory Micarta, and anything with a Wharncliffe as one of the blades would get my vote. Regardless of whatever it turns out to be, I'm in for one.
