Lanyard or no lanyard, that is the question.

Do you keep the lanyard on your CRK folders?

I voted NO, but I appreciate some of the different ones shown above. I rarely keep them on my CRKs. Only use for me on the CRK lanyards is "pocket pull" ...yes, I said pocket pull:)

nyefmaker, by "old style" do you mean the basic black ones, or is there more than one flavour of the black ones?

The old style traditional lanyard that came on all sebenzas that was just threaded through the lanyard holes in the scales and tied in that funky hangmans noose kinda thing.... Lol. Like what we see on all the P sebenzas, regulars, 21's until recently.

I take the lanyards off. They may be useful 1/100 times, but most of the time is an annoying useless timewaster when its a long lanyard like on the Green Beret, and it does get in front of the edge asking for suicide.

I've never understood why a person needs or wants a lanyard on a knife. I don't need a 2-3 lanyard to take my CRK's and other knives out of my pocket.

IMO the CRK lanyard looks weird/unnecessary sticking out of my pocket----that's just me tho.
I agree

I didn't vote because I like them on some, and off of some.
It doesn't matter to me on a large, but I like the old style on the small because it helps gives me good purchase with my little finger. I have them on several of my smaller knives for this reason.

I’m not a fan of the lanyard that comes with the knife, it doesn’t fit with the Sebenza’s style IMO. I prefer the leather lanyard option.

Took mine off, seems like a risk to catch on something and get pulled out. I don't mind wear/dings from use, but I'm going to be pissed when it falls and hits the concrete because of a lanyard.

Oh, how I LOATHE lanyards! Completely ruin the aesthetic of a knife and look positively goofy sticking out of your pocket. So I voted NO lanyard of course. :D

Lanyards come off all my large sebenzas that I carry in a belt pouch or sheath along with the clip and clip insert installed. My large insingo that still has the clip I have a new lanyard on so I can secure to my turn out gear with a lanyard clip.

I didn't think I would like it, but I left it on my small sebenza and got used to it. Now I like it. The clip came off pretty quick.

I guess there are two reasons for whether or not someone likes a lanyard, with combinations of pros and cons to both: utilitarian and aesthetics.

Utilitarian: either the benefits outweigh the negatives for a lanyard on a specific knife - Or not. Also the specific application of the knife could play a role. (In addition to being helpful for pulling out of the sheath or pocket,) I personally find the lanyard helpful on my small Sebenza for added grip and comfort. On the other hand for me it not as needed on my large Sebenza for grip/comfort.

Aesthetics: If someone likes the looks of a lanyard; they are right. If someone dislikes the look of the same lanyard; they are right.

just my 2¢ worth
